Not sure if Ipod is the best buy longterm as you are tied to itunes downloading site , huge formatting battle going on at the moment whcih I predict WMA backed by Microsoft Windows to win therfore I recommend buying a gizmo that plays both formats.

I got an ipod a few weeks ago (much cheaper in the states). The ipod mini was $249, and the 20GB was $299. I payed the extra $50 to get 4 times the disk space.
I enjoy having mine. My favourite part is listening to music in places you wouldn't normally. I didn't use diskmen before because the skipping was really annoying, something the ipod doesn't do.
Also, I save all my music as mp3s, which can be played on ipod and on microsoft applications, not the default format that apple gives you.
One other thing I should say is that they scratch really easily - even if you have a cover. Mine is only a few weeks old, but it looks like something I've had for five years. I've basically given up expecting it to look shiny any more.
My recommendation is not to spend money on it too lightly (even if you've got it), but if you want music on the go, ipod is the job!![]()

Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.
