******! and me in the middle of exams.
THE eircom League Premier Division fixture between Longford Town and Cork City, which was postponed last Saturday because of fog, has been re-arranged for this coming Saturday at Flancare Park, inthenet.ie has learned. The match will have a 7.30pm kick-off.
Both sides were without a game this weekend after being knocked out of the FAI Cup.
Lawlor told inthenet.ie: "It was a bit of anti-climax when the game was called off. But, to be honest, it was a blessing in disguise at the same time. I would have struggled to field a team with the amount of injuries and illnesses we had. Paul McNally and Sean Prunty cried off on the day of the game, but I am very hopeful they will be available for Saturday."
McNally has recovered from a viral infection and Prunty has shaken off an Achilles injury.

******! and me in the middle of exams.
Anyone found out yet why the game wasn't played last sunday?
Thats the joys of it Eanna. I failed one of my finals in college because of the cup final & replay in 98. 2 whole weekends spent in dublin during the middle of exams, plus a cup victory and an open top bus parade, meant I was still half drunk in the exam on the monday morning.
you making the trip on Saturday?
Becasue of fog, It can be cancelled an hour before the game, and two officals have to agree (AFAIK) .... funny thing is, at five the fog was kinda heavy, and hard to drive in, the ref went to the Flansiro to check it out, there were two floods on ... nearest the gate and nothing else, but the corner flag was visible at the other end of the pitch, (this was at 6.30) so the game was called off, then the rest of the fog began to lift and by 7.30 it was practically gone, and with all the floods on it wont have mattered. Even so ... there was no problem the next morning but it still didn't go ahead .... in short i think the ref fcuked up, but i suppose the same thing happened to Rovers last year when they came to Cork, S hit happens![]()
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
And the ref was stacey wasn't it? Him fooking up? I can't believe the Athlone w@nker would do something like that.....![]()
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.
In fairness the rovers game was supposed to be played on a sunday afternoon so couldn't be played the next day + it was rain not fog.
Think it was actually yer man from Dublin - Whorsikey (sp?). Somebody said it couldn't be played on Sunday because he was unavailable, but surely somebody else could have filled in, even if it meant StaceyOriginally posted by Macy
