Any Cork lads hear what the extent of Dunleavys injury is? Was the one cliche that Richardson rolled out that didnt grate that a player clutching a knee like that when no one around is cause for concern!

Dundalk are a quality outfit - probably the best I've seen visit the Cross - fierce annoying. 4-0 wouldn't have flattered them tonight. Still, a long way to go yet.

Couldn't agree more with you. **** poor tonight. I couldn't believe how physically stronger and fitter you were tonight against City. Clearly we have a way to go to catch up with you lot. Towell is a right tool though but what a player and any team in the league would love to have him. How long can you keep him though. Gartland is the heart of your Team. He fouls all the time but he is so experienced that he gets away with it. Good win tonight Dundalk.

Gartland is our John Terry. Some turnaround for him from scrapping away with Monaghan/Portadown to anchoring Dundalk to the title

Kenny actually has a fantastic ability to get the best out of players that weren't rated elsewhere. It's how he got LTFC into the Premier back in the day with a bunch of 'rejects' generally.

Dundalk were better tonight. We didn't really play but no real problem with the result. I seriously dislike Daryl Horgan though. Also, I really want to like Richie Towell due to his quality but he makes it difficult by celebrating in such manner. I'd have no issue with him running to his fans, who've made a significant journey.

Why? Because he went to a club where he'll win league titles? You would think Cork City fans would give him a decent reception for the part he played in their promotion to the Premier Division. Short memories in football.

I personally, with the aid of another guy, carried him off the field when we won the 1st Div in 2011. Now he finds it acceptable to antagonise our fans. I understand that players get abuse, but it comes with the territory.

Interesting to make a quick comparison on Dundalk between this season and 2014 after 10 matches

    2014 - 20 points (6-2-2); + 8 GD (19-11)
    2015 - 26 points (8-2-0); +16 GD (20-4)

While comparisons can be crude because of different home / away opposition splits, there is no doubt that it is a really powerful start

Next up and to complete series 1, Bray visit Oriel Park on Bank Holiday Monday.

Great game to watch on the TV, I dragged my brother who couldn't care less for soccer to stay home with his Lithuanian girlfriend to watch the game and they enjoyed it, they were surprised by how fit an quick the players were, good job

Fantastic start for Dundalk alright. It's beginning to look ominous for the rest. You would think (hope!) that they'll hit a blip at some stage.

The chasing pack is beginning to bunch up behind. Pats only 3 behind Cork in second now. As for us, good solid win last night against a poor Sligo. We'll have to improve I think if we are to compete for the title.
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

What's the story with Warren, I saw him play a few times in the 1st Div and he looked a really good player?

Davy was quality, think he was with Waterford, Cobh, Cork over he's LOI career. He spent a few years with us fantastic player. He played against us in the Munster Cup in February and deservedly beat us. He must be mid 30's now?

Very unfair of Pats playing a very different game to the one we were trying to play last night. Quick passing. Too each other as well. Could have been a bigger defeat then it was really. Huge game for us against Limerick next weekend.

Surely Sligo will get back to themselves at some stage. Their form this year is just mad, they should be so much better than they have been.

I think we are hoping it has happened conceding against Limerick in the last minute and coughing up points after being 2 up against Rovers. Though I think the way those points were dropped were the reason our game was lifted to take 3 points from Turners Cross.
Title challangers will generally improve as a season progresses, the risk to table toppers in this league is the chance of losing players in July and disrupting as settled side. Injuries hopefully can be managed by a squad. If Cork utilise their squad/tactical options better they will stay in touch for sure.

Still playing MSL with Avondale. Not as prolific nowadays but still a very valuable player to have.
