Can someone explain this one .......
TV ratings …. X v Y on a Friday night … then we are told 122,043 watched this game. Fair enough !!
But how do they work it out ….. is it similar to the TAM rating where it is a small section of the viewing public and they represent the probability of everyone else watching the same as those select few or is it an accurate record of people that watched the game ?
If it is that … then what constitutes a viewer ?? Is it someone who watches the game start to finish, even the adds, or is it someone that watched at least half the game. I mean surely the don’t count someone flicking though the channels and will watch six seconds of a game, maybe to read who is playing. Does a potential viewer have to watch the game for say … five minutes to earn his/her stripes and be counted as a viewer?
Anyone know how this works ?
