If Liverpool could get Villa to join them, they would be laughing ,Koeman is a ***** and is doing a clear out and the Premiership is his preferred destination

What has happened to Yakubus peno taking?

He was the best i've ever seen, up until last season when I saw him miss one for the first time ever....now he just keeps missing!

Fair ****s to Everton tonight though. I thought they were outstanding and if Liverpool think they will just pull away from them now in the league I think they're in for a rude awakening.

They have been playing like that all season the question is can they keep it up and see out the season big dissapointment best way to bounce back now is to batter Fulham.

Very disapointed obviously but at the same time very pleased with how we played. We absolutley battered them. We should have finished the game in normal time.

Osman, arteta, lescott and jagielka were superb.

Anybody who thinks that Everton couldn't cut it in the Champions League is wrong after that display. We made the 3rd or 4th best team in Italy look like a Championship side.

Goodison was rocking as well, probably the best atmosphere I've ever been at.

Very important now to bounce back with a win on Sunday to keep the pressure on the other side. We won't obviously win a trophy now so we have to make sure we get 4th.

This is only the start though, with the news that Lescott signed a long term deal yesterday, this side is going to be together for the next 4 or 5 years and who knows what they could achieve.

Up for the flight home at 5am this morning to be in work, it's going to be a long day.....

Anybody who watched the away leg would beg to differ. They destroyed you in Italy.

You played well last night against an Italian side who were content to sit back. Fair play to you's for getting back into it but the standard of your penalties was pathetic.

At the end of it all, you failed to get the job done over the 2 legs. You crashed out against the first remotely decent side you came up against.

hit the post and a great save how are they pathetic penalties ?

Penalties are a lottery Everton played 10 games in the Uefa cup this year won 8 drew 1 lost 1 very unlucky to go out but it shows we are moving in the right direction.

That's just a ridiculous assesment. Yes, we were crap in the first leg but they didn't create anything like the amount of chances that we did last night. They didn't destroy us, we just had a very bad night.

As for the first decent team, we beat zenit at Goodison who have since knocked out Villareal and Marseille (the same marseille who won at anfield this season) since then.

Everton are the 4th or 5th best team in the strongest league in europe. We still need a bit of experience in Europe but of course we could hold our own in the champs league. Maybe not against the 4 or 5 very best teams but definitely against the rest. For example, we would definitely have qualified from Liverpool's group this year. From a group of porto, besiktas and marseille? we would definitely have made it out

And the same Marseille Liverpool beat 0-4 at the Stade Velodrome.

Everton might be a less successful Celtic in the Champions League if they ever got into it - very hard to beat at home, a sieve away.

Perhaps you would have qualified, but I don't think it would be definite. Turkey is a difficult place to go to and Porto are an excellent side. They, like Everton were very unlucky to go out of the Champions League and were the better side over two legs. From what I heard from a Porto fan they were relatively unlucky in Germany and then absolutely destroyed them at home but just couldn't convert their chances. Marseille, however, were probably lucky to play Liverpool at anfield on a night when plenty of players were off form.

Liverpool can now field a weakened team against the Gooners in the league fixture. Happy days.

PS. We will beat United next Sunday. Put your gaff on it.

When was the last time you beat Man Utd?

Man Utd are not on fire at the moment but they are still grinding out results.

I would have to disagree. Psychologically it makes a big difference. The longer Liverpool go without beating them it's going to keep getting harder. That said, it has to happen eventually, but going to Old Trafford is not going to be easy. Liverpool played Utd on the back of a 4-0 victory in Marseille and lost against them. United's game against Bolton in midweek will help though, as Liverpool will have all week to prepare for this game.

Liverpool beat them in the FA cup in 2006 as well en route to winning it.
