With regards to Kromkamp lets give him a chance to see what he can do. Josemi was poor cover for Finnan anyway and kromkamp is a straight swap deal so i presume he will act as cover and as rest now and again for stevie too.

I think Kromkamp has been signed purely to provide quality cover for Finnan. To stand any chance of catching Chelsea Liverpool need to have top class replacements for every position. This is also important when you are progressing to the later stages of the CL

. Just another indication of the positive direction of the team under Rafa.

Jockser your post 1227 is all that is required to put an end to the futile debate with mypost.

Like at home to Chelsea, United won one battle as predicted......however tehy will finish behind Chelsea and will also finish behind Liverpool.

Not much point in hammering the small fry for 3 months, when you then lose to the big fish.

Next away day at Chelsea. Expect more punishment.

allthough arsenil had most of the possesion everton closed them down all over the park prime example was when they were forced to pass it back to the keeper where beattie was waiting and should have sown it up then .

they only looked like scoring for about ten mins in the second half and everton looked back to there best ,

inspired move by moyes to bring in cover for yobo ,great to see stubby back where he belongs .

he needs to get a striker kimmy f. hasslebank would fill a gap nicley for 6 months .and with cars back for the ressie things are looking up

I didn't see it coming but to use your expression, "I'm chuffed to bits"! This man has never wanted to be anywhere else but Anfield and I think we'll see a different player to the pale shadow that has played for City and Leeds in recent years. His goal against Manure recently had me dreaming of a player Liverpool could sign who could finish with such ease. Little did I know I was looking at the very man. The Kop will be heaving against Birmingham and I can't wait to see the positive impact he has at the club over the rest of the season. Rafa is a shrewd operator and he has endeared himself even further to true Liverpool fans who, in their wildest dreams, couldn't have seen this coming.

Sligoman, I think your struggling to comprehend the regard in which Robert Bernard Fowler is held by Liverpool supporters. His status is secured regardless of what happens. And here's to a few more 5-fingered salutes to that shower down the road.

If Fowler has two terrible seasons are you telling me that Pool fans will remember all the year's of good he done for the club and forget about the bad? I'm not saying his legend staus will go, I'm saying that it will be tarnished if/when he plays poorly

Its not so much what he does on the pitch but the impact he will have on everybody that he plays and trains with. If anybody has any doubt about what it means to play with Liverpool, Robbie's word should be heeded more than anyone. He'll have to be caught burning the jersey or something to have his status tarnished I'm afraid. And that my friend is unlikely!

LIVERPOOL'S Champions League success last season has pushed the club back into the black, it was revealed yesterday.

The club's annual financial report released to shareholders shows the Anfield made a profit before tax of �9.5million for the year ending July 31 2005.

It compares with the previous year's record loss of �21.9m, when �10.7m was spent on the 'paying off' of contracts of players and staff following the decision to part company with Gerard Houllier.

The profit after tax of �7.53m was more than Manchester United's profit of circa �6.5m.

Turnover has risen 32% to �121.05m as opposed to �91.57m last year, with the successful run to Istanbul in the Champions League bringing �28.8m into the Anfield coffers - by contrast, the previous season's UEFA Cup progress made just �3m.

However, net debt has risen from �15.38m to �17.14m, with the report stating the increase relates largely to a dispute with kit manufacturers Reebok, who have deferred payments.

The accounts also reveal Liverpool have cut their wage bill from �66m to �64m - 53%% of overall turnover, compared to 72% the previous year.
