take your ball and go home so.

"rooney hit a volley straight into the top corner from the half way line"

all of a sudden hes moved on two steps now.

ps i scored from a dead ball kick out down longpavement so i must be better than alonso and rooney.

ill get my measuring tape out the next time make sure i have it down to the inch

all im saying is alonso's goal was nt awsome as its being described as on here it was good but not awsome . if fact if you did score that goal then it was better than alonso's since it went further and probibly beat a keeper aswell rather than it being an open goal that you kick the ball straight into .

Also would anyone disagree that Finnan is the best right back in the premiership? In my opinion he has been the best for the last year(ok im a bit biased) ......he really is a quality full back.............

Rafael Benitez today praised the consistency of Steve Finnan and outlined his importance to the team.
Right-back Finnan was his usual impeccable self in Saturday's 1-0 win over Tottenham and Benitez believes the arrival of Jan Kromkamp will ensure the Irish international gets even better.

"Finnan is a player who will always play at a consistent level," Benitez says.

"He will be seven, eight, nine or even ten out of ten every week. This is really important for the team. Some players find a good level for individual games, but don't do the same every week. Finnan does it for a whole season.

"The added competitiveness of Jan Kromkamp will also be good for him and the team and help him maintain his current level."

Liverpool score 5 in a game, and guess what?? Beanpole doesn't score. Normal service has resumed.

It's because of Benitez's pre-season spending, and early season tactics, that sees us where we are domestically. As it stands, 2nd place in the league is assured, but it's not enough. What we are really crying out for, is not a centre-back (for a defence that have conceded only
11 goals ) but an Henry, an Owen, a Keane, even a Fowler, i.e. a regular goalscorer. I can't remember the last time we had none. Signing a forward for a lot of money who can only score a measly 3 goals in 6 months is not a replacement, but a stand-in. We need to buy a proven goalscorer to take us to the next level, i.e. challenge, and then win the title. Surely there must be at least one of them available.

But wait a minute... the transfer window is here, so who have our overworked scouts been busy recommending we sign? Two untried, unproven, who-the-hell-are you?? nobodies from Denmark and Holland. Enough said.

I suppose Hyypia can play every match until the end of the season...no need to get any defensive cover at all.

Lad the thing is your posts are embarrassing! liverpool are flying at the moment and all you can do is whinge. Your last attempt to rise some people in here were truely pathetic! You whinge that crouch didnt score when liverpool scored 5 goals....that is sad. then you whinge saying we need a striker just after we scored 5 goals. You whinge again we sign 2 "nobody" defenders even though we conceded 3 in the same bloody game when are defense were clearly tired!
Your attacks on crouch are baseless, again you mention owen(obsessed or what! im delighted he didnt come to us this season.....what a waste of 18million!!)
Let me quote you earlier in the season......again when your insight to liverpool football club was a bad as it is now.....

Never a more true word spoken from Rafa. Steve Finnan is without doubt the most accomplished full back in Premership at the moment, and the added competition of Kromkamp keeping him on his toes will only serve him well. What stands out with him is not only his defensive abilities but also his ability to provide quality crosses with either left or right foot. There aren't many others who have that in their game and I hope he is recognised by his fellow pros, in the end of season awards, for his outstanding displays.

I would imagine both Given and Finnan will be in the Premiership team of the year at the current rate.
Steve Finnan has been excellent and for Kromkamp's sake I hope he's a decent centre half as well , cause Finnan's place is nailed down at this stage.

Incidently has anyone seen the 3 choices available to the Reds for the new Adidas jersey./ Things of beauty they are.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!

Perfectly put sir, frame that post and keep it safe - I fear you might need it again

What are the chances mypost will just *conveniently skip* over that post on grounds of something like "vitriolic abuse" though?

Anyway for the mentally capable Liverpool posters here I'm not sure about Kromkamp and where he fits into the team...Benitez says right back, but no need for him really there more than just cover for an odd few games and Centre back the same. He doesn't look convincing as right midfielder either...so where does he fit..?
