What the hell was that from Everton tonight!?!?!
If you go back a few pages on this thread some of you blues were saying "in theory" everton could do just as well as liverpool in europe after last seasons 4th place finish......... hahahahhahahahahah
I hope the blue noses now appreciate and no longer disregard their red neighbours achievements last year and 4 years ago and how well we did against a "very poor" Betis team compared to evertons performances against a "top class(shall we say ) " dynamo-something-or-other in some shed.
    Best team on merseyside???!!!!?!

How dare you even suggest it!!!!

I don't think there will be many people buying Everton's "Road to Bucharest" DVD.

Rumour has it, that Anto, Dillo, and co, are going into hiding until the derby match at Christmas. As we'll be so far ahead by then, Everton won't be able to see us in the table. They're rightly, back in their box.

what can i say first half they controlled the game completley secong half they never started , its this negative tactics moyes plays ive been saying it since last xmas , it doesnt work especially against europeen teams , if you give some one 10 yards of space inside the box they will score . doesnt matter how many injuries we had thats not an excuse

to make it worse he took off faddy our best player and put on kilbane .

but still ill let ye have ye're fun it has been a year since liverpool were ahead of everton so enjoy it !!.

    everton.
played villarreal. (and lets face it they didnt show they had much
    against utd).lost twice.
played pompey off the park at home. lost 1-0.
negative tactics in uefa. lost 5-1.
theres something emerging there and i cant quite put my finger on it....

i look here he comes with his lack of shame...

good man anto...leave out all the european wins (the last one being a win over a respectable spanish side with half our team rested ) and of course the fact we've silverware already....

barely beating sunderland...is far better than playing pompey off the park and losing

next time you see moysie...(surely you call him that what with all your faddy, ossie, fozzie the bear etc.,) tell him we're liking that sissoko lad
    you gowl!

Benitez: "I have 5 strikers, I don't need Michael Owen"

So what's happened in the league so far? Let's analyze, shall we; Here we go:

    Game 1: Liverpool 0
    Game 2: Liverpool 1
    Game 3: Liverpool 0
    Game 4: Liverpool 0

    C'est la vie

It's all very well keeping them out, but when you're not banging them in either, you can't win games or league titles. That's what bringing Owen home would have done. Far from challenging for a Top 4 spot, we currently find ourselves in the bottom half of the league, just 1 POINT away from the bottom three.

What's the story with playing this 4-5-1 formation at home? The onus was on us to win against Ushi-ted, with home advantage.

And they wonder why Premiership grounds are half-empty these days. On the basis of Sunday's game, I can see why. Christ, that was awful!! You can hear the raucous laughter directed at both sides, coming from Mourinho and co in London, after that!!

Ridiculous synopsis of our season so far, something you'd expect a sensationalist rag like the s*n to write. Why don't we overlook the fact that Liverpool created enough chances to win 5 games against both Boro and Spurs, and the small matter that Utd are actually a decent side? Or even better still, lets ignore the fact that we simply could not afford £17m for Michael Owen (who was the one who refused to rule out a move to Newcastle, and refused to play ball with Liverpool when push came to shove), just for the purposes of your arguement mypost?

Your Michael Owen infatuation is sad, so any chance you can stop repeating the same tiresome line over and over again in this thread? Any chance you can change the record? Liverpool had about £13m to spend before the deadline. They couldn't match Newcastle's bid. Owen refused to rule Newcastle out indefinately. It's very simple really. If you love him so much, go support Newcastle

Even more ridiculous - Everton and their fans are truely back where they belong - in the gutter

I'm quite happy with Liverpool so far this season. This time last year I remember the major defensive difficulties we were having, including the furore of the Zonal Marking system. Twelve months on and it's working like a dream - and we haven't even bought new defenders. So what if Rafa is experimenting with Crouch up front? He was robbed of him in pre season so unfortunately working Crouch in to the system is still work in progress. And anyone who is comparing Liverpool to where Chelsea are in the table is in cuckoo land - Chelsea are where Liverpool (and Utd & Arsenal for that matter) are working to be, without the open cheque book. Some fans have unrealistic expectations after Istanbul, I think we've made a very solid start to the season.

We will overlook the fact that we we created enough chances against the first two teams above. Show me the results. I don't care how many corners we had, how much possession we enjoyed, how many chances we had in those games, I want to WIN. Winning means scoring goals. We have scored one in 4 matches, against Middlesbrough, Sunderland, and Spurs, a side that European Champions with apparantly 5 strikers available, should be beating, without breaking sweat. Would AC Milan, Real Madrid, or even Chelsea be happy to merely draw against such opposition? There would be talks of crisis at their clubs, and calls for the manager's head in some quarters.

Regarding the other game, if you're happy to watch sterile football that gets us nowhere as it did on Sunday, and be delighted to settle for a poxy point at home to a United team in decline, that's your problem. If you want to see us be successful as I do, then you accept that a point at home to them is not good enough in the long run.

Or even better still, lets ignore the fact that we simply could not afford £17m for Michael Owen (who was the one who refused to rule out a move to Newcastle, and refused to play ball with Liverpool when push came to shove)? Your Michael Owen infatuation is sad, so any chance you can stop repeating the same tiresome line over and over again in this thread? Any chance you can change the record? As I said earlier, the club has about €25 million of CL money from last year alone, has almost no debts, has more money coming onstream, and is loaded. One thing we do have, is money. If you want to challenge for titles, you buy the right players, at the seller's price. Michael Owen scores goals, whereas Peter Crouch's role is effectively Duncan Ferguson Mark II, and I don't rate him. I guarantee you, that Owen will score more goals this season, than Crouch. Michael publicly admitted that he wanted to join us, but Beni never wanted him back, so he had to sign for the other club. If you want the best players, you pay the asking price. That's what Chelsea did, so they're top now. We didn't, that's why we're 11th!

[RE: MO]If you love him so much, go support Newcastle
Don't start going down the Anto1208 route!

Some posters think that I have an agenda, or a vendetta against the boss. I don't. But if I don't like what is going on at the team I love, be it Rovers, Liverpool, Ireland, or whoever, I will criticise regardless of what has been achieved before. I will admit that the current boss at Liverpool, was not my choice for the job. I was disgusted when he sold one of our most important players, almost as soon as he came into the place. That decision ultimately, destroyed our league campaign last season. Now, he's setting out to destroy this campaign, by playing 1 man upfront, even in home games. It's not good enough, I'm not happy, and I demand that the team challenges for league honours, not lying in mid-table. I only want what's best for the club, and I will continue to criticise the team/club until such time, as I am happy with the progress we're making. I remind you that at Liverpool, it's not the taking part that counts, it's the winning.

Was at Arsenal last night. Everton were the poorest side I've seen there this season. Even worse than Newcastle on opening day.
Phil Neville is such a joke of a player and being exposed severly now.

This Everton side wont finish in the top 10.

Ive never read such drivel............do you just ignore the fact that we DONT have the money you THINK we have?!?! let me put this in caps LFC DID NOT HAVE 25 MILLION to spent this summer as we WERE in debt!!!!

Michael publicly admitted that he wanted to join us, but Beni never wanted him back,
WRONG again.......all michael had to do was reject Newcastle and madrid would have been forced to deal with Liverpool. Did he? no he didnt and hence liverpool COULD NOT MATCH the silly price newcastle offered so again you are wrong about Rafa
so he had to sign for the other club. If you want the best players, you pay the asking price. That's what Chelsea did, so they're top now. We didn't, that's why we're 11th!
yeah just like Leeds united did right??? are you 12 years old by the way????

I was disgusted when he sold one of our most important players, almost as soon as he came into the place.
OK ill repeat to you for the 3rd time already........OWEN DECIDED TO GO TO MADRID IN FEBUARY. When Rafa came in Owen was finalising his deal.

That decision ultimately, destroyed our league campaign last season.
Lets ignore the fact we had a new manager 5 to 6 new players and the worst injury hit season in the history of the club........oh and ignore we are EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS just for the sake of it too. SACK RAFA!!!!

and I will continue to criticise the team/club until such time, as I am happy with the progress we're making. I remind you that at Liverpool, it's not the taking part that counts, it's the winning.
LOL you wont know what to do with yourself when we put a winning streak together....people like you NEED to complain all the time just to stay happy.

You are blind to the fact we have made significant progress already this season.
We have one more point than when we played middlesboro last season
We drew to a spurs like last season but they have improved significantly and will finish 5th this season
we beat sunderland (as you contradict yourself by saying its the winning that counts and then whinge that we only beat them 1-0)
We have one more point than when we played man u at home last season

So thats 2 points better off than last season already after 4 games. 3 closer to manu as they dropped 2 from last years result and we will ignore we WON ANOTHER TROPHY the supercup(which is what you want right?? ) and we are top of our group in the CL with a very good win against a very good team.

ah sure whats the point in even replying to people like you i wonder.......
