Not that I'd like to be agreeing with a liverpool fan but a 75000 stadium is ridiculous. Totally stupid but it would never be built.

It's just an excuse for not looking more into the Scotland Road option.

Wyness will be laughed out of the AGM in 2 weeks if he tries to put forward that excuse.

That's my biggest problem with the whole Kirkby move. From day 1, Wyness has said it's the only option. Why???? Why haven't everton looked into other sites and other possibilities??? This guy doesn't care about everton or anything to do with the club. The move is going to effect the club for 100 years or more and we are rushing to the cheapest option. It might have taken them time to get their arse in gear but Liverpool city coucil doesn't want to lose us out of the city, why aren't we willing to listen to what they can offer us. At the very least, the board should sit down with Bestway and discuss the Scotland Road option.

Wyness has some serious questions to answer at the AGM, I hope he has the balls to answer them this time around, not like last year.

It can be increased to 75 we wont need it unless we win 3 or 4 leagues in 10 years and have a similar agressive marketing plan like UTD had . But its good the option is there If england get a world cup it could be increased quite quickly for it .

On the filling of Goodison . You know aswell as i do its full most weeks there will be games that dont sell out same as at every ground average attendence is around 36,000 ( and 5000 are away seats ) but games like liverpool UTD chelsea arsenal etc would fill 55,000 the extra money from these games alone would make it worth while.

selling 36,000 ticket is very good when 10,000 are "restricted view" ive been in seats where you can only see one half of the pitch its asking a lot for someone to go fork out £32 for half the game

    Everton 218,523 36,420 (40,000)
    Liverpool 263,396 43,899 (45,000)

As you can see neither team can fill the grounds. You should be asking why are liverpool building a 60,000 seater when they cant fill the one they have now.

Not true mate. Goodison is only ever full for Derby, Man Yoo, Chelski lately and latter FA Cup games. Any other fixture brings in anything from 33-38,000
Always a few empties. Look we would all dearly love to stay in Goodison and idealists and romantics have their valid opinions, but deep down, we all know, we have to move. The Tesco option, whilst on the surface is a little embarassing in the short run, is without doubt the best FINANCIAL option. But, in the long term.....kids from Huyton, Croxteth, Toxteth and so forth. Those kids for generations to come will grow up with only one team in the city, Redshi*e. Liverpool is different in that familys are split. That will end. If you a kid from Liverpool, and you see a club, in your town, with huge success and history, and a club 11 miles outside town with mild success, who are you going to support?
Its a bloody impossible call. We all want to stay in the city, but, can we? In all probablility, no.

    Thats what i said

What about kids from Kirkby ? wont they start supporting Everton because its next door to them its all relative , most kids start supporting either liverpool or everton due to influence from older brothers dads etc anyway.

it makes no difference to me if they are in the city or not i live in ireland. i have to travel far enough to watch them anyway i can go an extra few miles.

Plus Irish liverpool fans slagging you about the club not being in the city is borderline retarded.

Anyone else get a little embarassed when watching the derby and realising how much more it means to Irish blues than it does to Irish reds? The brother is a die hard red, but is really not that bothered about the derby and neither are most reds i know. Where as I spend months waiting for it.
Then I get the "your cup final" slags at me

    Fishing ----------->>>>> Catch!!!!!

On the weekend. Everton should easily overcome Sunderland (and I actually wouldnt mind if you win this one ||). Newcastle has always been a difficult one for us reds. Coupled with the fact that the geordies will be under serious pressure tomorrow after recent matches, I expect a 1-1 draw but hope for a 0-1 win.

As a red, I cant comprend that. I hate the Mancs more than Everton (but that is slowly changing) but the derby will always be the biggest fixture of the year for me personally. No matter, how poor either team is it always will be. (As a fixture, football aside)

if everton liverpool was on the box there would be a few heads in watching it alright, usually nearly as many blues as reds due to the lack of real interest from many Pool fans. Its the same as playing spurs or newcastle to them.
But pool man yoo pool chelski or pool arsenal and the place is black and they are doign their nuts.

Does that not answer your own questions there , these great "fans" wont even watch there team when its on the box never mind go to a game. They know nothing about the history of there club and are only interested in slagging other fans. Ive seen them in pubs sitting not watching the match chatting away then a goal goes in and they jump about the place.

There is a pub in limerick where the "supporters"club go and they ll turn up to watch utd and cheer on the other team with more passion than they cheer on there own team . ( one guy even brings his bird )

But in fairness there are a few proper fans out there.

This is true , unless there is a cup final or something that would obviously be a bigger game but in terms of league matches its the big one all right. one i look for first on the fixtures anyway.

Yea they arent exclusive they ll promote any bandwagon Liverpool, Utd any day now there will be a munster jersey up there . Dont think there is much chance of Ken putting up an Everton Jersey he is a pool fan after all.

Is there any Everton friendly pub in the city the biggest crowd of us i remember was for the champs league qualifier i forget the name of the pub it was down near the new dunnes on the corner or the pedestrian street . That was because it was the only place with channel 5 and thats a bandit bar now so i dont think they even show footy any more.

There might be one or two in Halpins all right.

That same crowd often put YNWA, be there a match on or not, on the jukebox and get up and sing it like twas the national anthem, bloody embarrassing.
