First goal in the Championship this season, he scored twice the last time Millwall were in the second tier

I invited that bit of pedantry from you quite deliberately.

Right into my trap, in what, 20 minutes ?

Got the winner today for Millwall against table toppers Leeds: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/41209770. That's his second of the season, which is *whispers* the same number as Sean Maguire.

But could he do it on a wet Tuesday night in Turner's Cross?

Not sure about a wet Tuesday night in Turner's Cross - would a cold Tuesday in November at The Showgrounds count? http://www.uefa.com/under21/season=2015/matches/round=2000412/match=2011495/index.html

    Goal here on 1:22

From the highlights, it looks like Millwall were all over Leeds

Was thinking the same. I have no idea if one is notably better than the other.

Didn't realise O'Brien is only 23. What type of a striker is he?

Must have been close to offside unless some player not in picture played him onside .

So he's not playing up front? I always assumed he was a striker but was aware he had drifted to the right for Millwall. We aren't exactly stuck for wingers (like we are strikers). He has a lot to do at Championship level to get into the squad as a winger.

He is a striker, but they're playing him out wide at the moment.

Whether he's a winger or a striker (not sure what his birth-cert says) I would say that he'd be picked for a senior squad as a player in the position in which he has merited the call-up.

Surely has at least one paternal grandparent also with a name like his.

That's what I'd have thought as he talks about his "whole" family supporting Ireland over England. He also mentioned about his dad getting the call (from the FAI) when O'Brien was younger and there being "no decision to be made", so I'd get the impression from that that his dad was fully supportive of him going with Ireland.

I suppose it's also possible that his mum is O'Brien and that he hasn't taken his dad's surname?

2 goals and an assist for Aiden as Millwall beat Barnsley 4-1 at home in the FA Cup.

FA cup form is carrying into the league. O'Brien has Millwall 1-0 at home to Preston.

Daryl Horgan was back on the bench for Preston. Cunningham and Browne both started. O'Connor and Boyle are on the bench with Horgan.
