Longford's squad is better than it was last year. Limerick's is a lot worse. Galway's, though I haven't seen them yet, looks marginally worse. If you're looking at match-winners, Longford have more than either. That's not a guarantee of anything but they should certainly be looking to get at least a point in Limerick.
How many of you are forsaking the rugby to visit me?![]()
well I don't know about the rest of you but I would rate that performance pretty badly on the positive side we didn't lose we got a point and made about 4 or 5 chances and scored 2 very nice goals, players marks out of 10 imo O sullivan and Shaw 8/10, O Connor and Flynn 6/10, Hunt 5/10 cowan first 25 mins 6/10 next 40 mins 2/10 the rest 3.5/10 at best,
maybe I'm expecting too much but to my eyes this starting 11 needs a major shake up all over the pitch
man of the match was the ref
Awful game on the worst pitch ive ever seen in the LOI. First half was nothing short of a disgrace from us but to our credit 2nd half we were a lot better and KOC pulled all the strings in helping us get it down and play the wide players in which got us 2 goals. Conor Powell has to be dropped after last nights display, the fact Willie Tyrell wasn't even on the bench is a joke, he'd be more use on the bench than Rossiter.
Davy O'Sullivan was superb last night will dig us out of so many holes this season. Bray is must win.
The Limerick lads surprised me in fairness to them, held the ball better, and moved it quickly in attack. our defense was all over the shop, and I think it would have helped to have some sort of height in the back to cut out Limericks high balls. We also had no game plan in the 1st half, Don kept looking dangerous until he overplayed the ball, his end product was dire. Limerick won most if not all 2nd balls, work rate was way up. Davy looked great, Shaw kept being hoofed at way too deep for him to have any real effect, we were way better in the 2nd half, and should have scored one of those two headers, and was it Shaw through 1 on 1 when he took too long to take a shot, and then got flattened?
Limerick didn't have many real chances, but their goals were good counters, with our marking and closing down abysmally. On another day we could have gotten 4 or more goals, but if you play like that you don't deserve to win.
Conor Powell was tremendously bad, caused us all sorts of problems and ruined a bunch of attacks, the game would likely have been different if anyone else was playing at left back.
We gifted ye the first goal and the 2nd goal was a mistake by our left back, felt Limerick could have got 3 or 4 on the night and deserved to win, we were inviting ye to score from a cross as our keeper was petrified and on one occasion actually dropped his hands and let the ball fly past him but no Longford player reacted, he undoubtedly cost us 2 points.
It's been a while since we've had to listen to the nonsense of the Limerick fans on here! Hopefully it will only be the one season that their shambles of a club will be in the premier!
The one season as in this season. I am aware they have been up for two years, hence my comment about it being a while!
You lot are going to be involved in a relegation scrap with ourselves, Bray, Galway and possibly Drogheda and what's going to make the difference is injuries/suspensions and the know-how of the managers because there's really not that much between the squads. And if I'm not mistaken you lot have been whining about how poor Cousins has been tactically for a few years now so I hope for your sake the injuries don't pile up!
Don't worry, Cousins won't be around for too much longer once Roderick pops his head out of the sand......you heard it here first![]()
Dillo to invest in the town !!!! who knew ;-)
