Green is still playing at the age of 42 according to his Wiki page! Has he retired from international football?
"On 9 November 2022, Green announced his retirement from football"
No?
Is he playing non-league though?
I don't think his wiki mentions it?
Towards the top of the page where all his clubs are listed. Signed for some team in 2022 but no end date. I must admit, I didn't read much more of it
Workshop? That just means he joined and left in 2022 - if he was still there it'd say "2022-"
Same as with Ipswich and Crewe
So, you're saying he's unavailable to make an international comeback?
Paul Scholes retired and came back - why not Paul Green?
Never say never!
Confirmed ACL - disaster.
Massive loss. Offers best protection for back four of our midfielders. Someone is gonnna have to step up big time in March.
Who do we have that can play that role? Molumby? Collins?
Coventry I guess?
Cullen has often been overwhelming at international level, but he's still the best we have there. That's a big loss
Molumby, Smallbone or Coventry. Or some combination of them. Don't think it's a role Jason Knight can play, he's more of a runner, we need a sitter to replace Cullen. Coventry the most like for like replacement, but clearly not as good as Cullen.
Probably so, yeah. But Smallbone hasn't played since October, Molumby is in and out of the WBA team and Coventry has only one (sub) cap. None are really stand-out options.
