Spot on there mate, of course it is. Please do continue educating the proletariat from your wealth of a career background.
The Saville and Glitter references were clearly comparisons to that old 'all publicity is good publicity' cliche, and not the poster itself. Please keep up.

Amazing how precious some fans get about a poster being analysed. There's a danger this place might even get mistaken for an internet forum

Blast from the past this, a BBC report from 1983 on Limerick and the Pat Grace/ City/ Utd fallout with added bonus KFC/ Famous Fried Chicken League of Ireland mentions thrown in!

80k views on facebook and it's going viral elsewhere as well!

On the title topic of LoI Promotion Activities, Cork and Dundalk are the league's finest silver and the best promotion possible, gimmick free as well and all that. The cup final was a great game to watch. It was deservedly top billing on RTÉ news sport that evening. It's been obvious for years that the league needed at least 2 clubs to raise the standard for the rest to follow.

Taking Limerick and Waterford as an example from a Munster perspective, a third of their home games will be against the league's top 3. That's got to be a massive help for attracting big crowds. Include Derry and if Limerick v Waterford can generate a Munster rivalry build up, they are looking at 10 crowd drawing home games.

Outside the top 4, competition will be fierce to remain in the division. It's debatable whether a European playoff for the final Europa League spot is needed. I'm in favour of it but it might be a bit drawn out to have to wait a week depending on the Cup finalists in any given year.

I hope the right call is made on the promotion-relegation playoffs, especially for keeping an interest in high profile end of season games in the First Division. I'd like to see 2nd to 4th in the First Division included in the promotion-relegation play-offs. That could be either semi-finals and final or 3rd and 4th in quarter-finals with the winner taking on 2nd in a semi-final while 9th from the Premier await the winners.

The street football videos done by Glen Cronin and Duffer are a fantastic throwback and actually seem to be working getting kids out off their butts . Check out the shamrock rovers Twitter account....maybe someone could put up a link I haven't got the skills needed.

I’ve only watched one of them but what’s #footballlovesus supposed to mean? ‘We love football’ I could understand.

Live football is a real experience that parents and children can share together over a long period. There are very few enduring shared experiences quite like it.

Flares used again to promote the league. I suppose its a good way to put the fine money to good use.

If we could cut out the flares in Tallaght we wouldn't have to bother with promoting the club with all the money we would save

Most passive followers of the LoI that I have spoken to have given the league format a thumbs up. It's very easy for them all to understand. Teams play everyone twice at home and twice away. It'll be time now to focus on all other activities for promoting the league. The format discussion is finally over! :-)

Cork and Dundalk are the league's finest silver. They have the respect of the LoI community and potential market audience of the LoI.

The 4 home games the rest are guaranteed against these two will have to be utilised by the likes of Limerick and Waterford to entice more support on a regular basis.

Some clubs might want to consider offering people who buy a ticket for one game the option of going to the next game for half price. Fair enough they might want to exclude games against the regular top 4, who might be considered Category A, from being half price. I'm sure most would understand that. For example if I go to Limerick versus Bohemians, offering a discount for the next home game against a team outside the category A would be an incentive.

LoI Weekly podcast is back tomorrow. It'll be their first episode of season 2. Is it any good? I listen to a few good podcasts from across the water.

"The fact is that the League of Ireland is the best attended and most popular club competition in Ireland. No other clubs in Ireland can attract 2,000 people every second week for nine months".
