I was in the middle of the stand, was hard to estimate the away area from there. If it was less than 50, that is very poor.

My young lad counted 35 on the away terrace. So we're pretty close on that.

It's always hard to tell on the stand. I though I was sitting next to two Drogs fans as they were silent when the goals went in. Turned out they were two Slovakian lads from the local PayPal office.

The crowd for last years EA sports final between Dundalk and Rovers was 3,500. For some reason an exact figure wasn't realised, but it compares favourably with this seasons.

So, weekend attendances. Only three official figures through so far from eight league games. Pretty poor. Hopefully some on here can correct that as I'm finding it extra difficult lately to obtain any official figures.

    Dundalk v Drogheda: 3,207
    Bohs v Longford: 1,296
Derry v Shamrock Rovers: 1,200 estimate
    Bray v Limerick: 500 estimate
    Cobh v Harps: 350 estimate
    Waterford v Cabinteely: 348
    UCD v Wexford: 250 estimate
    Athlone v Shelbourne: 250 estimate

In defence of Drogs there were over 100 of them there in the end, though only about 30 at kickoff time. It was on TV, they're poor and they were on a hiding to nothing so you can see the appeal of giving it a miss and watching on TV. From behind the couch presumably. And even if they aren't very good they're still one of the top attractions at Oriel

Rovers, Bohs, Pats are bigger attractions, so now are Cork!

I'd put Drogs approx level with Cork and Pats now, behind Rovers but ahead of Bohs. Do you really think more Dundalk people will roll up to see midtable Bohs than relegation threatened Drogs?

    This season attendances
    Dundalk V Drogheda Attendance: 3,457 + 3,100 other night
    Dundalk V Bohs Attendance: 3,225

    Last season
    Dundalk V Bohs Attendance: 2,114 + 2,614
    Dundalk V Drogheda Attendance: 2,383

Looks like roughly the same amount of people will turn up for both

Can't imagine capacity at much more than 2,000. They really need a second stand of some sort there, or at least some form of stepped terracing. There's only around 800 seats far as I know. Seen pictures of the game tonight that had crowds lined right around the pitch and the seats full.

Their record attendance was League cup final against Derry. 3,000 according to google. They had heaps of extra temporary seating for that game. Their first league game ever had a fairly big attendance too if I remember right.

Few images of the League Cup final. Ferrycarraig has potential to be a cracking little stadium if they could only have something like this a bit more permanent.

3,500 there for the league cup final according to Wiki (Or I could have read Nidges post properly - got too enthralled by the photos)

Hot on the heels of Cork City for the run n attendances. Do a bit better on the pitch next season and their average could be up nicely, Of course Dundalk having 1500 travelling support helps!

Hmmm I'd have expected 2000+ for such a big game for Sligo. Rugby must have had some pull in the west and great game it was.

I presume your joking about the 1,500 travelling support.
