This time two years ago, Athlone were celebrating promotion. Last night, they played out their last home game in front of scarcely 300 people, a total of which in the end included 49 away supporters.
It goes to show the fragile nature of LOI clubs.

I would be very surprised if that 4,800 figure is correct from Tallaght last night. Take 800 allocated away support and possibly 200 more Dlk fans scattered around the ground (I met at least 10), I don't think there was 3,800 home support with a small German addition?
The Star is going with 4,500, it just didn't look that high to me, maybe I'm wrong, and an official attendance would help, but I would have thought even 4k was a high figure.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
I don't expect to hear any official figure. They've been a disaster to try get any figures off this season.

Proper atmosphere at Terryand last night, with over 300 Limerick fans in the old stand really backing there team. The locals across from them made some noise as well. Galway in a bit of trouble, but may yet survive, and if they do it will be a great achievement. A team that finished 3rd in the first division last year and lost Manning and Paddy Barrett have 29 points in a very competitive league, but need at least 3 more to be safe.
About 1400 or so in the City Calling last night. More Sligo fans than Town fans
Well the Rovers board would be between a rock and a hard place on attendance for this game. Go high and it makes a mockery of their stance on games covered by RTE, go low and with the significant demand for tickets that was spurned, it was easier to pull a figure out of a hat!
They got the balance just about right.
The home section was not massively deserted, so their stance on limiting the number of away fans did not appear ridiculous.
As we have seem in Oriel Park, if the game is sufficiently attractive, TV coverage doesn't really reduce numbers.
In addition, a lot of the newer fans in Oriel Park have been attracted to games after watching games on TV.
Rovers stance was mainly over the 7:05 kick offs.
350 estimate from extra time at Cobh v Waterford.
Any figure from Longford v Sligo?
Also anyone able to help with Derry or Drogheda?

450 at DROGS V CITY. Terrible attendance for a premier league game.
