Well I've never seen bias towards Dublin teams by Dublin refs. Gross imcompetency yes, but not bias.

Eh, a Cork ref reffing games with Cork is not comparable. Over quarter of the population lives in Dublin plus 6 clubs, 7 if you count Bray. Considering we are also one of the more footballing parts of the country we're going to be supplying more refs. Now if you want to make sure no Dub refs a Dub club (which in itself is strange, as it's a suggestion that all Dubs lean towards Dub clubs, and surely if one leans towards a club they most like don't like most or all of the others) it's going to be bloody difficult. Whereas there are only two Cork clubs which don't appear to even dislike each other, and chances are a Corkonian leans towards Cork. Far less ambiguous. I'm not suggesting any or all Cork refs are biased but it would leave an incompetent referee far more open to looking biased.

why not remove that element of doubt? its unheard of in any other league.

i'm sure theres enough refs to cover two maybe 3 games thats would involve a team outside the Pale

no chance. it just shouldn't happen that a ref is from the same area as EITHER team. I think having a cork ref for a game v a dublin club is exactly the same level of doubt

I am from Dublin but I don't consider myself from the same area as Bohs, Dub City or Shelbourne. It's a big place with plenty of clubs. Cork is smaller in population and essentially has only one big team. It is not a comparable situation. I would not have someone from Drumcondra referee Shelbourne, but it should be no problem to someone from say Templeogue to ref a Bohs game.

And if you want to show TV3 that there's support for an hour long show, info@tv3.ie
I really cant believe that you posted that, leaving doubt about the two of them not able for an hour show during a season (if thats what you're saying) ... with the correct, researched content .... it would be no worries.

I rather the dust settled after the whole ladders and cameras thing before commenting on games they could and couldn't have got to.

An hour long programme, even at the same time would be great ....

    I will post this again !! ......... info@tv3.ie
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

They should have an hour show with the extra time being taken up with more football not more Noel King and Rico.

Bang on. The whole problem with ELW is the rubbish coverage of the actual games. I'm waiting for the week when they have no football at all, just Rico, Kinger and other assorted clowns yapping.

Right there pablo is the reason some people are sick of this cark whinging. THERE IS NO CONSPIRACY AGAINST CORK! FACT.

I know I lived there and it's just another place in this country, no better, no worse.

Let me fill you on the ref situation. Firstly as was mentioned already they are too incompetent to be biased. Secondly having listened to mckeon in a work situation he could care less. An exact quote " WTF are Rovers, b**z and shels anyway? I get free trips abroad "!!!!

The refs are like the general populace they DONT CARE ABOUT THE LEAGUE. I cant stress this enough so talk of favouritism is laughable. I never look at where the ref is from cos I know he'll be a turd anyway.

Foley the little leprauchaun from cork was dreadful in waterford but so was mckeon when he robbed us against the scum. Every fan has got a story but no club has stories like us though.

Hole in the net in dundalk. Need I say anymore?

Two balls on the pitch at Santry fiasco

As NY Hoop says the Cork "everyone is out get us, why does no-one like us" is getting tiresome

    As the chant goes.....
    We are City,
    We are City,
We are City from the Cross
    No-one likes us,
    No-one likes us,
We are City from the Cross

Most refs in the league are just incompetant however in some cases a bias does exist.
McKeon is a self confessed Shels fan yet always refs Shels big games.
Ian Stokes is biased against City and has a problem with Pat Dolan. He has given at least 3 or 4 penaltys against us this year and has refused to shake hands with Dolan on a number of occasions.

Did you not read my post? HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT ANY CLUB. And he is not " a self confessed shels fan ". Tripe.

And this anti shels thing is laughable. One guy here has "Hating shels globally" as his signature!! How can anyone hate shels? I smell jealousy..........

That's not what I was saying. I was saying(as far as I remember) that saying the league is getting more proffessional and better is grand for an hour long special with plenty of talk, but repeating it every week will get boring, so will the banter they have, I was already getting a bit ****ed off with it by the end. But as Schumi said and I meant to say if I didn't, replacing the ****e talk with football will solve the problem. Then, that leads the question, is there enough football for an hour? They should really have 'in-game' commentary and extended highlights for one or two big games a week.
