Blues boss Reynolds tried to persude Wayne to stay
Wayne Fitzgerald, the Blues' influential midfielder has announced he is quitting the club following their final league game against Derry City on Friday. Fitzgerald, who has been at the RSC for four seasons has spent much of the season on the sidelines following a knee operation, has cited pressures of work as his reason for leaving the club.
"I've tried to persuade him to change his mind, " said Blues boss Alan Reynolds. "I know he's had a frustrating year with injuries but he was very much a part of my plans for next season.
