Hopefully they get to the bottom of it and he doesn't miss too much. Would hate to see him out for a long spell as he's one of our best prospects.

He's in the "boy's a bit special" feature in this month's FourFourTwo:
Part of it is online here: http://www.fourfourtwo.premiumtv.co....878516,00.html

Tunes: Not R n B and rap, that's for sure. I prefer traditional Irish music, and bands like The Pogues and U2.

I didn't know Garvan was Con Martin's grandson. That makes him Mick Martin's nephew, yes? He's got good blood, so.

I presume this has been posted before, I just came across it now, a good article about Shane Long:

McGeady played well again today, got Celticfc.net man of the match:
    http://www.celticfc.net/newsroom/new...12_1720gk'

He hit the post and set up the 2nd goal. I watched the game and he was very lively and created a few chances. Here's the 2nd goal which seems to be taken by camera phone or the like:
    http://celticfan.com/goal2.wmv

This time last year he probably would have shot there but showed good awareness to pick out Petrov.

    leicester v ipswich 3-1

leicester managed their first win and goals of the new season in front of the smallest ever crowd for a league game since the move to the new stadium. the only Irish player for leicester being McCarthy, although Logan was again on the bench, with Maybury not making the 16 at all, further fuelling the rumour he is on his way out of the club. dissappointingly, despite more chopping and changing to the problem left-back position, Sheehan didnt make the 16 either.

but on the upside, a much improved 90 from McCarthy this time out, he and his defensive partner were on top throughout, with both ipswich strikers being hauled off by the hour mark.he got on with the game and never looked like coming to the refs attention, thats 2 full games booking free now. he played when it was on and put it in the stand when it wasnt and also had a header loop onto the roof of the net at the other end from a corner.not at fault in any way for the ipswich goal.

for ipswich, Supple,Bruce and Lee started with Clarke also getting half an hour.
Supple, despite being beaten 3 times, was not individually at fault for any of them and back on the scene of his league debut, again played quite well, catching securely and punching well when necessary.he kicked reasonably well. he had a couple of hairy one-on-ones where on the first one he was rounded by the player and required his covering defender to put in a truly superb challenge to prevent a goal, the other time he got to the pitch of the ball but was still disposessed by the leicester player when he might have been expected to hold it, equally you could argue, he had it, and the challenge was illegal, but the ref played on.

Bruce started the game holding the midfield, and ended it in the middle of 3 at the back as his side chased it,he looked more comfortable at the back but didnt do anything spectecularly good or bad in either slot. while in the middle he was disposessed twice in the first half as he dwelt on it and left the leicester midfielder bearing down on his centre-halves, with the 2 leicester strikers on their shoulders, thats a habit he will need to get out of if he's thinking of playing in the middle. luckily for him, neither occasion lead to a score.

Lee was very poor, he won one free kick on the edge of the area, that apart i dont recall him influencing the game at all, he flicked a couple of headers on but with no direction, he was beaten in the air on more than one occasion by smaller leicester players, and not once do i recall him doing anything of worth on the deck, even the basics of making it stick and bringing his midfield into the game, hopefully just an off day for him, as if produced this in a green shirt, id be serioulsy embarrased. he was replaced on the hour by Billy Clarke who, by then, had the thankless task of performing a miracle with the service very poor from his side, but he did well, he was lively and had a nice touch or two, he even won some usefull headers which at least got his opponents turned. he also had two nicely-bent runs flagged offside which would have seen him in one-on-one and judging by the fury of the ipswich fans away over on that side, he was unlucky to be flagged.

Cahillane scored one as Celtic U17s beat AC Milan 3-0 in a tournament in Villarreal today. They lost the previous games against Villarreal and Espanyol.

Karl Moore was an unused sub as Man City's reserve side overcame Wrexham's reserves 2-0. This game was used to get some of the senior side (Weaver, Onuoha, Sibierski) match practise before the season kicks off against Chelsea at the weekend so I would expect to see Moore back in the starting XI in the next game. Garry Breen was not in the side at all.
Very short review on Man City's site (which is odd) but a full review, with line ups on Wrexham's site.

Anybody know what Richie Partridge is up to these days? I heard he had a poor season with the Owls and was released at the start of the Summer.

Does anyone know if Joey O'Brien is injured? He didn't line out for Bolton against Spurs.

Thanks. I noted that Ireland didn't get his game for Man. City today either.

Actually, Ireland came on as a sub. My mistake.
