The game was probably more exciting on teletext.
It was more like 20 yards, he placed it well but I thought Howard could have done better.

    From Sky Sports' website:

Hull City look set to return to Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur to land another of their players in winger Mark Yeates.

The Tigers have already signed midfielder Dean Marney for an undisclosed fee from Spurs this summer and the East Yorkshire club look set add to add to their ranks with Dubliner Yeates.

The 21-year-old, who has just signed a new two-year contract with the North Londoners, has already had three loan spells during his time with Spurs.

Spells at Brighton & Hove Albion and Swindon Town were followed by a successful spell with Championship new boys Colchester United.

Yeates helped the Essex outfit to promotion from League One, as well as a successful FA Cup run that ended at Premiership champions Chelsea.

That loan spell impressed new Hull boss Phil Parkinson, who seems keen to add the youngster to his ranks at The Kingston Communications Stadium.

According to the Star, it's a season long loan move. Another one.

Confirmed here (well sort of): http://www.hullcity-mad.co.uk/news/l...TMNW&id=288892
Didn't realise the Hull manager had him at Colchester.

Darren Potter came on as a sub for Liverpool against Crewe at the weekend, he's been given the squad number 90 this season, so I don't hold out much hope he'll stay at Anfield.

Alan Quinn and Owen Geary started while Stephen Quinn was a second half sub, and Paddy Kenny never made it off the bench as Sheffield United beat Greencock Morton 3-1 in a preseaon friendly.

Neil Warnock of Sheffield United said last night on SSN that he'd like to forge a formal link with Inverness Caley as he thinks that players like Stephen Quinn would benefit from a year on loan in the SPL.

Alan Sheehan played the full 90 at l.b., and Conrad Logan played the 2nd half in leicesters 3-3- pre season draw with lincoln city, Logan managed a clean sheet in his 45, after Rab Douglas got the tug at h.t. having put in another pitifull display in the first half conceding 3 and giving away a pen.

neither Maybury or McCarthy featured as both are carrying slight knocks (knee and groin respectively), but the manager said it was precautionary.

    Colin Cryan played for lincoln.

Colin Healy came on for Barnsley against Boro as part of a trial. He didn't get a mention in the review though, so i can't say how he got on

on SSN text, the manager of barnsley, Ritchie is saying he has been impressed with Colin Healy while he has been on trial there and hopes to get him on a contract for the coming season, likes his range of passing and his hunger for posession.

Liam Miller got a decent run out against Celtic.
Hard to tell about Miller because Celtic were absolutely woeful, he looked sharp and composed, his every touch was moronically and loudly booed.
In giving him a good run out it could be that Ferguson has a vengeful sense of humor or still hasn't received an acceptable offer for the lad.
I hope Miller gets settled playing regular for some club.

Shaleum Logan was born in Manchester, his profile lists him as English, but I've never heard of any Irish link. He's a left back and played in the FA Youth Cup Final last season against Liverpool.
Flood played well when he came on and had City's best chance of the second half by all accounts. Hopefully he can kick on from here and establish himself in the starting XI, with Musampa and Riera gone, there's a dearth of wingers and creativity at Eastlands, so he may yet get a chance.

The question is though, has he been hitting the weights over the close season? He'll nowt be a Premiership player if he's still a scrawny wee bugger...

The bid has been accepted, but Croft hasn't moved yet. At the moment I'd imagine Trevor Sinclair is the first choice right winger, but I'd say the left wing spot is up for grabs. It would have been Musampa or Riera last season. Sibierski can play there, and with the amount of strikers in the senior side, he might just but he's never impressed there.

I haven't seen any of the preseason games, so I can't comment if he's built himself up or not, but he was playing in defence in the previous 2 games, which suggests some amount of strength.

Interesting that both Murphy & Elliot have been given first team numbers for the new season.

Maybury and McCarthy both played the 90 in leicesters 0-0 draw with real sociedad last night, at r.m. and c.b. respectively, and Conrad Logan played the 2nd half in goal for leicester managing a clean sheet on his most high profile outing yet. he didnt have a great deal to do as the game petered out but didnt drop anything and kicked well.

Logan also played v hinkley utd today, keeping another clean sheet in a 5-0 win, Alan Sheehan also played this game at left back.

leicesters first choice keeper, Douglas is likely to miss the start of the season through injury, bringing Conrad Logan into the reckoning, according to manager Rob Kelly.

    from the bluearmy site

    DOUGLAS SETBACK HITS CITY

Manager Robert Kelly revealed last night that goalkeeper Rab Douglas is likely to miss the start of Leicester City's season because of the shoulder trouble he sustained in the build-up.

This thrusts Paul Henderson into the spotlight, although Kelly also hinted at setting a challenge for Conrad Logan.

Promising young keeper Logan was in the side for the final friendly at Hinckley United this afternoon.

Kelly said: "Rab will be struggling for the start of the season. He has had an injection into his shoulder. He has done a bit of work but it was still coming back.

"However, I thought Paul did well against Real Sociedad, making a couple of good saves, and Conrad is champing at the bit. So that is healthy, having a good young goalkeeper who is pushing the two senior ones for the spot.''

Kelly got what he wanted from last night's tough friendly against Real Sociedad.

The 0-0 draw added to City's undefeated record in the pre-season matches but the City boss did admit this was nothing like the games against Boston, Macclesfield and Lincoln which had gone before.

He said: "They were just what I expected, a team equal to one of our Premiership sides, and they made it difficult for us in the first half.

"But I thought we improved in the second.

"We kept a clean sheet and didn't lose, which is important, and, after the Hinckley game, we get right down to it, starting on Monday.
