Stephen Ireland and Willo Flood played as Manchester City's reserves bested Blackburn's second string 2-1. Sligo's Alan Judge was on the bench for Blackbun. Flood provided the cross for City's equaliser.

Garry Breen and Karl Moore played as Manchester City's U-18s topped their Manchester United counterparts in the Manchester Senior Cup 1-0. Moore's corner led to the late winner.
Darron Gibson, who football365 described as promising yesterday, played in midfield for United.

You sure he's from Sligo? Never heard of the guy .
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

Sorry judge is from Dublin, for some reason I mixed him up with Darragh Tuffy, he's the Sligo lad at Rovers

Diarmuid O'Carroll and Jim O'Brien played as Celtic's U19's came from 2-0 down to win 5-2 against St Mirren, the team is now on course for a second successive league and cup double

Wasn't it 2-0 in the end?

Saw Garvan's goal on TV, a sweetly struck volley from close range. Doyle got an assist for Reading's winner with a lovely left footed through ball, Trundle scored & Jon Douglas scored a really good goal for Leeds. Clinton Morrisson also scored. Not much joy for the Irish in the bottom end of the table. Alan Quinn's in trouble with the law.

He's been exonerated by Warnock, but there's now a total pub ban on Blades squad members until the end of the season!

Karl Moore has made the step up to the Man City reserve squad for tonight's game against Bolton after some promising displays for the academy side. I'll post the match result and review later

Karl Moore started on the bench for Manchester City's reserves against Bolton Wanderers in appalling conditions. He came on as a late sub, but had little impact with City already one up and Bolton down to 10 men. The game finished 2-0 to City.

Anthony Stokes, Matthew Connolly and Sean Kelly all started for Arsenal reserves in their 2-1 loss to Tottenham's second string, while Sean Treacy was an unused substitute.

Guardian "Rumour Mill" column says Everton want Liam Lawrence. Pure speculation obviously.

Darron Gibson and Kyle Moran were in the United reserve team as they drew 1-1 with Wolves' reserves. Unfortunately Moran never made it off the bench, but Gibson had a 25 yard shot deflected wide. Kevin O'Connor was on the Wolves team.

Haven't seen it posted here but Jimmy Ryan and Conal Platt were on Liverpool 's U-18's as they were knocked out of the FA Youth Cup by Wolves U-18's last week 2-1. Platt scored Liverpool's goal.

Tets, where's Karl Bermingham been? Didn't he break an arm or something? You haven't mentioned him in ages.

I haven't heard anything about him in a while, he was getting a regular start in the reserves, albeit in various positions - he even played right full in one game. And then nothing since the last time I mentioned him, I didn't even hear he broke his arm. Google, yahoo and a9.com all show up nothing.

Wasn't he sent out to Burnley on loan, or somewhere like that, before Christmas? I'm sure one of the City Irish broke an arm, but maybe not him.

He was at Burnley until the end of October 2005, and returned and played in the reserves since then, but I haven't heard anything about him in a while

    leicester v hull 3-2

Maybury played for and captained leicester, again in midfield and it seems to suit him, he has done fine there in the last few games anyway.Logan was on the bench again.

for hull, Andrews played in the middle holding and was fairly solid didnt do anything remarkable but kept posession simply,he was subbed late on as hull chased it.Delaney played at c.b. and i thought he had a fine game, very solid in the air and comfortable with it at feet, he showed good pace once or twice when isolated, a good game.

McCarthy will be available again for the next game and the side has leaked 4 in 2 games in his abscence, with the centre of defence not covering themselves in glory at times so it will be interesting to see if he comes straight back in.

    RESERVES; leicester v norwich 2-2

Logan played for leicester and if credited with one fine save and a guy called Michael Spillane played for norwich, i think hes one of ours, a c.b. maybe.

match rep here, scant irish interest in it.

Jim O'Brien and Darren O'Dea played as Celtic's reserves beat top of the table Aberdeen 3-1 to draw level with them at the top of the reserve league. O'Brien got the second goal, a quality finish according to the reports. No sign of O'Carroll, is he injured?
