Marc Yeates, of Spurs, is doing very well on loan at Colchester over the last few games. Theyve been playing him on both left and right wings
West Ham have made a formal bid for Tottenham defender Stephen Kelly, but will have to increase their £1m offer for the 22 year old Irish u21 international. Both Celtic and Birmingham are tracking the Kelly situation and are ready to move for him, now that he has handed in a formal transfer request to Martin Jol.
The Hammers have released full-back Tomas Repka and have made an approach for the Spurs man as a replacement.
Tottenham are holding out for more money for the young defender and Spurs boss Jol admitted that "We have had some interest in Stephen in the last few days since his transfer request"

Alan O'Brien made his Premiership debut for Newcastle against Fulham at the weekend coming on as a sub after 80 mins.
from independent.co.uk's review of Ipswich VS Sheffield United
With an 18-year-old goalkeeper, Shane Supple, and the 17-year-old Owen Garvan in the centre of midfield there is clear promise, but Ipswich need to find more players who have both class and experience.
sheff weds v leicester 2-1
McCarthy and Maybury played for leicester, McCarthy was again captain and also picked up a booking, for wednesday, Coughlan was captain and Whelan played, both are reported as being very impressive, Corr came on with 20 to go and Partridge was an unused sub.

Haven't heard anything about him
What about Alan O'Brien who had a nice showing for Newcastle against Fulham today. For some reason I think he is American![]()

He's Irish. Just 21 years of age and looked good today. Perhaps he is also one for the future?

From today's Indo:
Saul stays with Burton
GOALKEEPER Saul Deeney has pledged his immediate future to Burton Albion and is likely to play in the Brewers' FA Cup replay with Manchester United at Old Trafford tomorrow.
The 22-year-old Derryman has lapsed out of contract with Notts County last summer but was re-employed by the Magpies on a short-term basis before an acrimonious departure from Meadow Lane.
Adam rooney, 17, (brother of dublin citys mark) is expected to make his debut for stoke tonight accoding to the star

Rooney came on in the 80th minute, he got a shot on goal which was blocked and fell to Gallagher who got Stoke's goal. I don't know if he took a peno but Stoke scored all 5.
Stack, Hunt, Long & Doyle all played for Reading last night in their 3-2 win over WBA, Doyle replacing Long after 90 mins.
I only saw about 30 mins of the Leeds game. Kav was his usual composed self, distributing the ball well and not afraid to receive the ball under pressure. Miller had some good moments. Didn't notice Douglas much but thought Kelly played well, and I hear he scored a great goal.
Anyone who saw the whole match got a comment on the Irish in this game?
Never heard if he scored a penalty, but I saw the goal and he did play a part in it. Has only played 2 reserve team matches for stoke and is only 17 so he must be highly thought of over there to get a run in teh first team so quicklyOriginally Posted by eirebhoy
