heres Kevin Doyle on readings potentially promotion clinching game at leicester on sat, from the blue army site
Royals wary of party-poopers
Striker Kevin Doyle has urged his Reading teammates not to take promotion for granted when they take on Leicester City tomorrow.
A win for the runaway Championship leaders at the Walkers Stadium will seal Premiership football for the Royals.
And, depending on results elsewhere, Steve Coppell's men could even secure the Championship title tomorrow.
But Republic of Ireland international Doyle has warned that victory against a City side rejuvenated under Rob Kelly will not be easy.
“Since their new manager has taken over they've been on a good run of form,” said Doyle, who is the Championship's fourth-top scorer with 14 goals.
“We had a tough game at home against them over Christmas and we know it won't be easy.
“We won that game 2-0 but only with two second-half goals.
“This will not be an easy game to try and get promoted in,” he told his club's website.
It is a message echoed by his boss Coppell.
Despite it becoming increasingly clear in recent weeks and months that Reading will be playing top-flight football next season, Coppell has refused to publicly admit as much.
The experience of last season, when Reading fell away badly after Christmas, has prompted him to keep his counsel.
And even now Reading are on the cusp of promotion, Coppell is playing a straight bat.
“Inevitably, between now and Saturday, I'm sure everyone will be talking about the consequences of this game,” he said. “I hope that will not take our eyes off what we've been about and get distracted.
“Under the new manager, City have been getting good results. He obviously has the respect of the players and has given them a real uplift in points accumulation.
“I'm sure it will be a very difficult game and just because of the importance of the result it doesn't mean we're guaranteed to get it.”
City are expecting their biggest attendance of the season for the visit of the champions-elect.
Reading are certain to receive a noisy backing after selling out their allocation of 3,000 tickets, and there is hope the gate will exceed 26,000 for the first time this campaign.
And while Doyle is excited about the prospect of tying up promotion to the Premiership, the 22-year-old admits to a little disappointment that it might not be achieved in front of their home support.
“I think the mood among the players is the same as for the fans,” he said.
“We're really looking forward to it.
“I must admit I only saw on Monday that a win would guarantee it for us, like a lot of people I thought one of the other teams had to lose.
“It's a little bit of a pity that the first game we can do it is away from home.
“It would be nicer to do it at our place but we won't argue too much.”
Diarmuid O'Carroll and Darren O'Dea playd for Celtic's under-19s as they saw off Livingston's U-19s 1-0 to strengthen their hold on the U-19 title for the second year running. Tim Kiely came off the bench late on to return from a long injury lay off.

No review on Livingston's site yet, I'll post it when it appears
leicester v reading 1-1
McCarthy and Maybury played the 90 for leicester the latter again in midfield and playing well, McCarthy was again captain and had a good game with 2 first half blocks on Doyle efforts from the edge of the area.he also managed a superb lastditch tackle to deprive Doyle of a one-on-one.he also headed over from a corner at the backpost.he has managed 3 games without a booking now and was busy throughout winning countless headers. the equaliser was again conceded from a flicked on corner though which has happened the leicester defence as a whole, way too often this season.
for reading, Doyle was involved throughout, with very productive use of posession,he and McCarthy had a real ding-dong of an afternoon and there were some verbals between them in the second half but a handshake at the end.despite being constantly involved, he only had one clearcut sight of goal in the entire game but he took the chance, a header, to confirm readings promotion.he was running around after the game wrapped in a tri-colour as the reading fans stayed put to celebrate with their team.
Long and Hunt also saw action with Hunt having an immediate impact with reading equalising shortly after he came on and he also drew a fine save with a powerfull dipping volley.
amusing to hear you speak of not wanting to drop to my level when its abundantly clear that what i said has sailed comfortably over your head .......and with plenty to spare by the sound of things.Originally Posted by livehead1

Parkinson hails new boy ClarkeOriginally Posted by Tenderloins
The 18-year-old, Ipswich loanee almost made a dream debut on Saturday, but saw a last-minute goal disallowed in the goalless draw with S****horpe.
Colchester boss Parkinson said: "I was pleased with Billy - he's only a kid, but not many teams are letting goalscorers go out on loan at this stage of the season."
Parkinson also insisted the decision to chalk off the late strike was wrong.
"When you watch the footage of the incident, I think the goal should have stood," he added.

I thought Willo Flood had a good game against Chelsea on Saturday, despite making a few mistakes in the first half.
Stephen Kelly was very poor last night for Spurs against West Brom. Keano was brilliant, back to his very, very best.
Always look on the bright side of life
Sean Thornton scored for Doncaster on Saturday. Seemingly he has been out of the team after falling out with manager Dave Penney, surprise surprise. Hopefully he will take this chance to rebuild a career which has been wasted so far.

Steven Reid was excellent again on Saturday. If this guy stays injury free and continues to progress the way he is doing he will be some player.Pulled all the strings for Blackburn and scored a lovely goal.
After the match Mark Hughes said that Reid has the potential to be another Vieira, Keane or Gerrard. I think Reid already has many of Gerrard's attributes - an atheltic physique, good running ability & great ball striking. For a guy who strikes a ball so well he gets far too few goals. I think this will be self-perpetuating in Reid's case though. He's very much a confidence player. The more he gets, the more confident he'll be and so on.
Darron Gibson is in the Man Utd squad for tomorrow's match vs West Ham.
Jim O'Brien scored the first equaliser for Celtic's reserves as they defeated Livingston's second string, including Colin Healy and one-time Ireland prospect Noel Whelan, 3-2 to move closer to the reserve league title in Scotland

PS Livingston's site has a link to the report of the 1-0 loss to Celtic's U-19s from the weekend but there's nothing there: http://www.livingstonfc.co.uk/newsde...id=0&type_id=2
Karl Bermingham played for Man City's reserves as they defeated Everton's reserves 3-2 with City's final goal coming from Bradley Wright-Phillips' overhead volley from a saved Bermingham effort. Bermingham was substituted shortly after this. No sign of Willo Flood, so he'll probably be in the team this weekend against Boro.

that will mean he is starting then, if he was on the bench then he wouldn't be left out of the ressies.Originally Posted by tetsujin1979

Alan O'Brien turned out for Newcastle's reserves against an Aston Villa reserve side featuring Stephen O'Halloran. The Villains were too strong for the Magpies and were 2-0 up in the first seven minutes with the game finishing 3-0. From the Newcastle report, it seems O'Brien was involved in anything decent on their part, while O'Halloran seemed to be their principle frustrator. The Villa report only mentions O'Brien taking advantage of a mistake to get a shot in on target.
