Tets, Soccerscene.ie also lists Donal McDermott as Irish in its article on Man City's FA Youth Cup team. Know anything about him?

Not a lot to be honest, it's tough to find any information about Academy players - and rightly so in my opinion, let them get on with the business of learning their trade. Even the main Man City site has nothing listed about him.
He's a winger, and the current FAI U-16 player of the year. Erm, that's about it I'm afraid, I use this blog - http://mcfcreserves-academy.blogspot.com/ - for match reviews but he's only listed as a sub in one game. The youth cup is U-17 AFAIK so he may only be still coming though.

    milwall v leicester 0-1

McCarthy played and captained the side, leicester conceded 4 in 2 while he was suspended recently, taking 3 points in the process, since he has come back the side has conceded 1 in 2 taking 6 points as the season turnaround continues.

    Maybury again played in right-midfield.
Logan lost his place on the bench to the fit-again Douglas, despite a clean sheet in the midweek reserve win over fulham

For millwall, Dunne played with Doyle on the bench

I've seen questions raised about where leadership is going to come from, and in particular questions about the ability and commitment of Dunne.

Richard Dunne had an outstanding game tonight, epitomised great leadership and ability.

Frankly it's a few years since I've seen the character, at centre back, which Dunne displays, almost back to Moran and Co.

Matthew Connolly started in defence alongside Sol Campbell for Arsenal reserves against a Charlton reserve side with Darren Randolph, with Arsenal eventually running out 2-0 winners. No sign of Stokes, or Tracy though, anyone know if they're injured or just rested?

This added recently to Man City's site:
    CONGRATULATIONS DONAL

At this stage of the year, the Football Association of Ireland hold their annual Awards ceremony in Dublin. The format is very similar to the PFA awards in England when various awards are presented for outstanding achievement in different age groups. I am delighted to inform you that our young player, Donal McDermott, secured the prize in the U16 category. Donal joined us from our nursery club in Dublin, Cherry Orchard and has put together a string of excellent performances both with us and of course for his country. Unfortunately, Donal suffered a broken ankle in December which obviously set him back a little, but I am pleased to report that all is well now and Donal is back doing what he does best – playing football.
I had heard before there was an arrangement with Cherry Orchard, guess this proves it

    RESREVES. leicester v spurs 0-2

Logan was an unused sub for leicester, but Andy Reid played the 90 for spurs and scored in the 43rd min ''blasting home an unstoppable piledriver'', he was also booked.

Alan Mahon and David Connolly lined out for Wigan's reserves on Monday night against a Liverpool reserve side, but ended up losing 2-0 despite Connolly's best efforts, including a brilliant effort in the 77th minute.
Liverpool also had Daniel O'Donnell in their line up. His profile says he was born in Liverpool, anyone know if he's eligible for Ireland?

Liverpool's academy side knocked out their Southampton counterparts in the FA Youth Cup last week to reach their first final in 10 years. James Ryan came off the bench late on for Liverpool, while Southampton included David McGoldrick in their lineup. Liverpool will play the winners of the game between Man City and Newcastle's fixture, with City leading 3-2 going into the second leg.

dunno tets, but early impressions of the stan era would suggest no stone will be left unturned in these type scenarios.

without wishing to generalise, the scousers ive met do tend to have a soft spot for the emerald isle, but we have been emigrating there since god knows when so he may not even come close to qualifying for us.........the club speak well of him in the profile anyway, could be a nice recriut.

we wait and see..........tis is the capable hands of stan for now.

I haven't seen a full back given such a roasting all season (although Melchiot was giving him a run for his money on the other flank). The poor lad will never have such a difficult game again and I'm sure it was a one-off in extremely testing circumstances, but I just hope his confidence doesn't take a battering. You just had to feel really sorry for him.

Yep, that's the same guy. I can't find where he was born, but several sites list his nationality as Irish

Karl Bermingham and Willo Flood lined out for Man City's reserves in a 1-1 draw with Leeds' second string. According to the Man City review Bermingham played well up front, but the Leeds review doesn't mention him at all. There's a bit of a striker crisis at City at the moment with both Samaras and Cole out for the majority of the remainder of the season, so I expect Bermingham to be given a regular start up front for the reserves after being tried out at several other positions, including right full! With any luck a substitute appearance might not be out of the question.

Garry Breen started with Karl Moore for Manchester City's youth team, while Michael Daly and Donal McDermott were unused subs, agains their Newcastle counterparts. The game finished 1-1 so for the second year running, there will be a significant Irish presence in the FA Youth Cup final.
