He'd give Digger some proper competition ..heard from LTFC sources that Connor has signed a deal for €50k per year with Drogs..They have the money in the EL at the moment it seems..

Edit: That's into his hand too..

Fookin hell.... And some people expect us to be challenging teams with that type of spending power

Rodgers is not a good keeper. He is shaky and inconsistent and certainly is not up to the standard to play for us

Heard some worrying news today as regards two of our out of contract players being offered big money by Drogheda. Money we cant match..Have to hope for the best but there's a fair chance of us losing them..

I'd be a bit surprised if players that Alan wanted to hold onto left the club. He's noted for being quite meticulous and keen on forward planning.

I can only guess that it would be players like Dillon, Prunty, Paisley & Murphy?

The directors are pumping the dwogs with the cash.
I dont see why a wealthy Irish business man wouldn't invest heavily in a eL team with a good infastructure in place i.e. LTFC

well they wouldn't own or even part own the club, it is held in trust for the people of longford, you can only become a member and have 1 vote...

BTW there are only 45 member sof the club, yes thats right, it only cost i think 40 euro and if only 100 extra peole joined that would be 4K extra revenue every year, so grab a member of the board and DO IT ( i have to as well )

    Dillon, Prunty, Paisley & Murphy
Prunty, Dillon are the considerations here. Although Paisley is a regular U-21 he is unproven to an extent... Murphy has a good job with the bank so unless he takes a year off it wouldn't be a consideration. He's only after getting married so mightn't fancy it. Prunty and Dillon would be a real fear and we'd be hard placed to replace them. Only hope that we can hang on to three of the four mentioned preferably the younger three.

Great to hear. Our defence was where we enjoyed championship-winning form. Need to build from the middle up. Deano and Dessie form a solid base for that. Any word on attracting players in? John McGrath, a Mathews' target last year, has recently been put on the transfer list at Doncaster Rovers (having spent a spell on loan at Shrewsbury).

Seeing as it's in the paper today, one of the two I mentioned is Kirby. You've offered him €1200 a week..He's waiting to see what we come up but it wont be anywhere near that..The other one isnt Murphy either, though it is a defender

well seeing they all know now, whats ur thoughts ???

1200 is too much for any player at our club. ANY PLAYER.

i'd like to see him stay but with that sort of offer and me being a capitalist i'd say, thanks alan and good luck in the future.

Correct but then again it wouldnt have to be 1200 for him to stick with his job and us, but it would have to be a substantial increase, to say 600/700 a week I'd say, which I dont really feel he is entitled to, good player though he is, he's not consistent enough to warrant it I feel..As you say good luck in the future if that's what happens

For what it's worth, Kirbs wants to stay in Longford and I believe has told Mathews as much. Drogs don't have European football - gold in Irish football currency.
