    Footballer of the Year 2004

I'm startin the campaign here for Matty Forde. Had a fantastic season, carried a limited Wexford season to their best campaign in years. I get so sick of people calling for players like the Gooch to win these awards, or Ciaran MacDonald who is more concerned with his corn-row hairstlye or havin his socks like Thierry Henry, its alot easier for those players because they are urrounded by supreme quality complared to Forde. Great to see Matty get the GPA award already, nice prize too-€18000 isnt bad for an amateur sportsman. I reckon Matty could do a job in the Eircom League too.

Whatever Leon, I've been singin Matty's praises since he destroyed my local teams minors when he was 14.

Matty's gettin my vote anyway. No greater sporting feat in the summer than his astonishing haul of 1-10 against Offaly at Pairc Loch Gorman.... Correct me if I'm wrong on that one Don. Could be 2-10....Still OK though. His exploits in a local pub in my vicinity adds weight to his claim as the country's best He has to sort the new Gaelic Gear boots out tho. Won't enhance his street cred in any way. Have you seen them Don?

As far as I know Joe he wont be wearing the Gaelic Gear ones, it was just a promotional shoot, every young lad down Slaneyside way will still want them though after that picture in the Guardian. He currently has a deal to wear adidas but Puma have been in touch so that might change.
