Just been looking at the thread in the gaming forum and the MODs issue

Dundalk, Finn Harps and Galway United !!

Unreal that there are no fans that visit here putting themselves forward as MODs

Kilkenny City ... i know things aint going to well right now but there are fans on here !!

Spread the word about your clubs people FFS !!

And Drogheda .. there are loads of Drogs fans on here ... why not step forward !!

Dublin City aswell ... good few fans on here belong to them.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Not too much traffic on some of those forums to be honest, but there should be candidates for Harps (harpskid?), Drogs (Coltron?) and DCFC (Breifne/ringo?), and that's off the top of my head. Why not approach them if the cover is needed?

I'd put my name forward but recent developments suggest it's probably not worth the hassle

I used to be mod of the Harps section, but to be honest all the harps related action is on the finn harps forum

Just to add to what I've said about this before: It can work both ways. In normal circumstances I only "advertise" for mods when the demand is there, but occasionally we've been approached by a webmaster who wants to use Foot.ie as the forum for their club site (usually FD, most recently Sligo), and the traffic builds up on the forum because of that. However unless the Foot.ie forum is replacing a popular pre-existing forum, or the mod really throws themselves into it, there's little point in jumping the gun.

The promotion/relegation ups and downs tend to help too, in that obviously support builds for clubs that have been promoted, and you see a jump in posts in those forums. It doesn't drop off as much when a club is relegated though, which is one good reason to try and make sure leagues aren't dominated by the same clubs year-on-year (imho, because the same is true in meatspace).

I'm pretty confident that the Harps forum will get fairly busy in the coming months, but I don't think there's any point appointing a mod now unless the person is really going to throw their heart and soul into it.
