They seem to have given up the league. I'd expect them to be a different proposition in the cup.

I think we all know the league was over with, it's all about getting second which is looking unlikely in itself. Would've expected us to really go for it tonight.

But yeah we'll need a big improvement for next week

Congrats to Wexford on securing the First Division title. Going to be challenging to keep an amateur club in the Premier, but at least the club has a solid infrastructure in place.

Decent performance from Rovers. Lacking creativity still and Drennan couldn't finish his dinner, but we didn't let them have the ball and should have scored more. 8 ahead of Pats with two more played, two behind Cork with one more played.

UCD were shocking. Harps dominated for the entire 90 mins, played all the football and in all honesty, 3-0 flattered UCD.

They made a big deal about how physical Harps were and how they were the only side who try to play football, well it was a huge role reversal for tonight then. Chris Mulhall kicking Ciaran Coll and then stamping on his foot right in front of the linesman and 4th Official was as stupid a thing as I've seen done in a long time.

Guaranteed 2nd spot now, massive improvement on recent seasons.

p.s. Limerick fan, I see what you mean now about Conor O'Donnell........

Superb performance from Harps tonight. Hitting form at just the right time. All over UCD from the word go. Hit the post twice, had a goal disallowed, couple of good saves from O'Donnell and enough chances that it could have been a real cricket score. I'm a little worried about how confident I am going into any play-off.

Goals from Harps match tonight for anyone interested.

    Nathan Boyle: 1-0

    Gareth Harkin: 2-0

    Raymond Foy: 3-0

Great result and performance Harps as easy a win as we've had all season, not bad for a bunch of hatchet men.

I liked the build up with slow passing at the back for the first goal Nigel, always a good sign of a side with a bit of confidence. Decent win and gets you home advantage in the one off FD play off part.

Only watched the Cork game late last night, I was very surprised at the almost given up attitude, Derry looked the hungrier, and i tell you what, Bray won't be one bit afraid if they turn up next Sunday with that attitude.

Watch Soccer Republic for Keith Treacys goal v Bohs.
Struck from maybe 25 metres, only one place he could put it, to the keepers top right.
Dean Delaney, a decent 'keeper, knew that and STILL never got near it.
    Superb

First Division side has home advantage in the promotion/relegation play-off second leg too apparently.

I'd agree with that, if we play like that we will lose so a big improvement is needed. Was just so disappointing last night. It's not like it was a nothing game, it was hugely important.

Yep it definitely was a very important game for Cork, plus as much as it's now probably a certainty that Dundalk will retain the league, Cork should have put a lot more pressure on. I also think it might have been lost in some quarters that our remaining 3 away games were very difficult, Limerick, Rovers and Cork.

However I think Patrick touched on this before, there was not the same desire with this Cork team as last season, I think once Dundalk regained that 8 point lead with the same games played, the challenge appeared to drop off.
