Wonder what this means exactly...Did he receive a scholarship this season? Why single him out particularly? Maybe they're differentiating between scholarships paid by the college and paid by the club?
UCD's star striker Willie Doyle is among 89 sports stars who will today receive a UCD Sports Scholarship for the 2004/2005 academic year.
The Under-19 international has helped UCD to promotion to the Premier Division of the Eircom League, with the club still in with a chance of topping the table.

What it means is Willie is not going anywhere else in 2005, at least not before the summer transfer window.
Yeah the annual scholarships aren't officially announced until November each year even though the academic year starts in September. Pretty sure the ones the Soccer club provide have to follow the academic year.
