Dion Fanning was saying on the Second Captains podcast on Thursday that there's a decent affinity between QPR and the Irish community in London due to Loftus Road's location up around the Shepherd's Bush and Kilburn area which would be Irish community strongholds.

Of course we have Grego-Cox (that article states he's a QPR fan) and Michael Harriman (seems to have been with QPR since a youngster) as 2nd or 3rd generation Irishmen there, not to mention the Gallen's that are still heavily involved with the club.

They had a good representation of strikers in the Irish squad during the 70's with Givens, McGee and Walsh. I lived in Queens Park during the 80's and there was a huge number of Irish pubs. Not so sure its like that now, but not many areas of Britain are

I am a lifelong QPR fan and I have visiting Loftus Road twice a season for as long as I can remember. Over the years I dont think I have actually met an English QPR fan

I'll do a copy/paste of what I posted on another site. This is the Irish contingent at QPR:

    Reece Grego Cox

Michael Harriman (on loan at Luton) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Harriman

Frankie Sutherland (on loan at AFC Wimbledon) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankie_Sutherland

    Jake Mulraney - http://balls.ie/football/qpr-sign-pr...jake-mulraney/

    Ryan Manning - http://balls.ie/football/18-year-old...-for-qpr-move/

    Nathan Corkery - http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/na...s-2120219.aspx

    Olamide Shodipo - https://twitter.com/RobBrennan82/sta...18432110354432

Jamie Sendles-White - Plays for Norn Iron but qualifies for the ROI via his mum I believe

As Olé Olé mentioned, its a lot to do with Joe Gallen too. Nice interview with him here: http://www.indyrs.co.uk/2013/04/stev...estside-story/

Ah yes. He's been the recipient of some very lofty praise from Gallen recently.

    http://www.extratime.ie/newsdesk/art...ri-friendlies/

Was wondering why he didn't link up with the squad for the Azerbaijan games - he was training with the QPR first team.

Ryan Manning also spent time training with the senior team recently. Hopefully he isn't far behind being named in a (club) squad.

Wow - an Irish underage striker making his Premier League debut at the age of 18. This could be huge. But he's born in England? OK - we must get our best surveillance team to tail him everywhere he goes and if anybody from the FA gets within 100 yards of him: Take. Them. Out. Or better still, in three weeks' time, he meets up with the u-19s for the game in Germany - after that game the FAI grabs him, puts him on a plane back to Dublin and, two minutes from the end of the Poland game, they chuck him on to the pitch and call it a substitution.

With QPR's woes piling up (relegation; the inevitable departure of Austin, Vargas and others; a potential fine of $58m and a possible transfer embargo - http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32742194) could it all work out in Grego-Cox's favour? With a pathway opening up to the first team, should O'Neill and Keane start watching him very closely in order to determine whether and when to move him up to the full National Squad? Or will he end up toiling away at a basket case of a club? And what happens if Chris Ramsey gives him more game-time in the final two games of the season and he bangs in a goal or two? Could he possibly become another dual-national we want to see getting his debut against Gibraltar?
