Interesting Blog from John O'Sullivan. While many of us complain of things our clubs don't do, this highlights the effort required just doing the bare minimum to keep going.

Really enjoyed that piece. Fascinating insight into the running of a club in the off-season.
https://kesslereffect.bandcamp.com/album/kepler - New music. It's not that bad.
Excellent read. Loved the line about promising the sponsors they would be on TV then hoping all would be away!
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
Brilliant piece.
The scary thing is that this is from the perspective of clubs that have full time admin people. At many clubs it's all volunteers, so the pressures are even greater and the demands on people quite ridiculous.

Great article..Strikes me that it sounds like a club similar to Bray
2014 Airtricity League Champions
Sounds like 90% of LOI clubs tbh and he says it's based on his own experiences and those of others. I think he's involved with Limerick at the moment isn't he?
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
From the about section of the blog:
"I am a founder member of FORAS, who took Cork City FC into supporter ownership in 2010. I served as Chairman of Cork City from 2010-2011. later I worked as CEO of Athlone Town FC for the 2012 season and of Limerick FC from January 2013 through July 2014."

That whole blog is a good read in fairness. Raises some very interesting arguments about affiliation fees, prizemoney, collective bargaining, the proposed under 17 national league etc...
Tallaght Stadium Regular
Interesting that it all but spells out that either Eamon Naughton or Fran Gavin rang him to demand he take down his post about that.
That's unfortunately how the league works. The fact that the annual meetings of clubs is rushed through in 90 mins with no time to question anything is very much by design.
John is right. Clubs should be meeting regularly without the interference of the FAI.
Any criticism of how the FAI does anything is met with the same kind of treatment. You're told to shut up and that this is how things will be done.
Gone from Limerick about six months
good piece alright,...but CEO of three clubs in four years?a disaster at limerick imo.
he was never CEO at Cork City. He was the elected and unpaid Chairman.
Just finished that article, brilliant read albeit a little depressing
