US are dicking us around a bit, much better patterns of passing and movement.

They spent half an hour giving us the ball, so I wouldn't go crazy. But Diskerud is exploiting our usual Naismith achilles heel between the lines.

I don't think we had the ball that much, to be honest. A few times they've been able to move the length of the field with a couple of first time passes, whereas our play isn't as fluid.

Our play isn't as fluid, but the US passed like drains for large periods of the first half. The goal came out of nowhere and they've regained their composure since.

Once again we just don't have anyone getting on the ball with fluidity or regularity. McGoldrick, Brady, Pikington and Stokes have done well with some ball to feet but no one interlinks or overlaps except occasionally down each wing.

A perfect pass through from McGoldrick and a lovely finish to match from Pilkington for our goal. We were all over the place for Diskerud's goal; criminal giving the ball away there like that after a throw-in.

Murphy should have put his chance away, but US could have had another through Altidore as well. Not much else to shout about from our perspective.

Not sure why Given started myself. I imagine Randolph will play the second half.

I imagine Elliot will. He missed his honeymoon.

Given started because he's the second or third choice keeper so is more likely to see actual gametime. Plus he's rusty so could use the minutes.

The real question is why is he even in the squad.

Put Coleman on the wing and move Stokes up front. Oh i forgot. We must not incur the wrath of Martinez.

Remind me not to praise Stokes' on-the-ball ability again - gives it away handy three times in four minutes.

Hey hey hey - good pressure, really good goal. G'wan Brady. He's looking a class act going forward. Lovely assist again from McGoldrick.

Not a bad period of play there. Good finish from Brady.

    Mcgoldrick very impressive. 2 assists

Bit of a fragmented performance particularly at the back but interesting all the same

Hehe, I suppose that question was implicit in my statement.

Why isn't Elliot still in the squad? He's not injured, is he?

Christie doing well also. McGoldrick and himself could be very useful additions to the Emerald Isle roster.

Seems to be a good crowd there, plenty of school kids as well which is good to see.

I thought he was still in the squad? Unless he was cut when O'Neill culled the provisional squad.

Cyrus Christie looks very good. Some fearless running, composed on the ball.

Pretty sure Elliot was cut from the squad post-preliminary.

    Good save from Shay there.

Great showing from the two new boys. Two excellent assists from McGoldrick. 90% of strikers would have gone for that second goal themselves
Folding my way into the big money!!!
