Missing Egan, Conneely, Fahy, Murphy, Molloy, Cunningham, Faherty. I presume most will sign back?

Egan, Conneely and Murphy won't be back. I doubt Molloy will either.

Cunningham and Faherty probably will. I don't remember a Fahy from last season.

Edit: apparently a Richard Fahy made one sub appearance for us last season. No idea who he is.

Was impressed whenever I saw Conneely over the last few seasons - was he not wanted by Dunne or is it some other reason?

Martin Conneely has moved to the UK for work. Richard Fahy has signed for NUIG.

An ill-kept secret, but it's been confirmed that Richie Towell is staying at Dundalk, for the time being. Towell, Finn, McDonnell and Shields (Dundalk's player of the year in 2014) all in contention for central midfield.

Has Towell staying messed up the budget? Finn would have been appeared to have been his replacement but with Towell not getting a club in England is there enough money to get another striker in

Higgins left when Towell indicated he was staying.Dundalk are actively another striker.

Surely R-Patz is the obvious choice, why has that not been done already? Nicolas Anelka ftw.

Huge signing, we have now strengthened in every area except in goal where we had the Goalkeeper of the year. I'm suddenly much more confident than I was.

That has to be one of the weakest back fours in the division? Compare it to ourselves coming up from the first we have probably the best young right full in the country in Mulhall with a league winner in Rossiter as cover, the extremely experienced centre half pairing of Flynn and Sullivan with the extremely talented Tom Morris (former port vale) as cover with Conor Powell at left full with two of the first divisions best defenders in Deady and Tyrell offering cover there.

The Limerick midfield isn't the worse to be fair but up front I don't see any player scoring more than 5 league goals at the most there. That's a relegation squad if you ask me. Very worrying, good news for Longford and Galway fans.

Ya as it stands we have a brutal squad. Pat O Sullivan said Wednesday that Martin Russell has said we will be competitive. There isn't a hope in hell. Anyone with half an interest in the league can see we are at the best mid-table first division. I think we could be on for another season like Galway had before going bust.
