Well if it's true then there are two things that could happen;
It will pressure the club into getting a move on with players to ensure the ones we have that things are happening,
Or
They tell him if he doesn't want to be there then move on, the club don't want players that don't want to be there.
You can see why Shane is dodgy. He started with us last season with a lot of promises. Pre-season came and the squad wasn't what was expected and the squad at the start of the season wasn't what was expected. We were very poor until mid-season when good signings were made. Now pre-season is coming again and the squad is very light, the better players are all signed up and most our good players are moving on.
It doesnt look very professional from the outside, the way the off season has been going for the club.the whole county should be on a high with the return to the markets field and putting together a decent squad.very little talk around about limerick fc and the upcoming season.
The thing about it is the general public probably don't have a clue how the squad is shaping up, whether it's good or bad. Unless you are actively online on social media you probably wouldn't know much of the goings on. 95fm is the only other really decent source for information on the sports program Saturday mornings.
Some people I have talked to didn't even know we had lost the likes of Lynch and Djillai and think we are picking up where we left off last season.
For the love of dear God, do NOT tell them otherwise! If the season started tomorrow, we'd struggle to break a gate of 500 people.
It's disappointing how quiet it all is when you think that this is probably the last chance the club have of capturing some imagination of the fans in the city and county.
"Money's to tight to mention" as a famous 80s warbler told us!
"We've had a lot of good times, but you don't know how good they are until you have the bad ones" Tony Adams
any word on Joey Ndo lads?
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
Mick leahy didnt last long either.he is on the pfai team for norway trip.god only knows what kind of central defence pairing we will have for the new season.
Over the years a lot of players have gone on that trip and re-signed wih their previous club. Just keeping the options open I'd imagine. It does tell us though that it's another player that hasn't agreed terms (if they were offered).
The PFAI team this year is probably the weakest I've ever seen.
So as it stands out of our starting back 4 Robbie Williams is the only one re-signed. I think Robbie is a decent player but out of the back 4 he was our most injury prone, which is a worry. We'll need him having a fullfit season.
Out of our starting back 5, we've only our left full signed.
Any news on Oji or Nzuzi? I heard they were expecting them back for pre-season and Leahy too. Potential defence of Williams, Oji, Leahy/ Whitehead and Nzuzi is a mid-table team's defence. Could be worse, could be better.
First 2 days of pre season cancelled cos we didn't have enough players to train. Nice to see we are going into a massive season for us moving "home" so organised.
Unsigned player that was supposed to do the testing yesterday has told me it was cos of lack of players but I have literally just had a conversation with Tommy Barrett on twitter and he says it was cos equipment and facilities were unavailable so testing will start tomorrow. He expects 12-13 players there tomorrow.
Now usually I would believe the player ahead of people from the club straight away but I have no reason not to trust what Tommy says, maybe just a mix up with what the player was told I'll get onto him.
All of this is incredibly worrying. I'm surprised at how slowly things have moved on the player front, even for Limerick. Wonder how the financial picture really is.
