Cherrie has been a great servant to Dundalk and it's sad to think (rumours seem to be true) that he won't be in a Dundalk jersey again. If you ask me there isn't much between Rodgers and Cherrie. Both have different strengths. I'd agree Cherrie could command his area better, but he is an excellent shot stopper. Cherrie had a great affinity with the town of Dundalk and whatever happens he will always be held in high regard in Oriel Park.
@AidanMcGuinness
Rogers is a far better keeper than Cherrie. Good move by Dundalk

fats to rovers confirmed
Rogers had a couple of high-profile mistakes the past season, but imho he's been consistently the best keeper in the league for several seasons. At his best he demoralises teams who think repeatedly thumping in crosses is a good idea, and I've lost count of the amount of times he's stopped stuff I didn't think he had a hope of getting near. He's a huge loss to us.

Even if the sun ceases to rise
The name of Sligo Rovers will shine and shine forever like the morning star glittering in the sky."

#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
Fahey must be next.
Think Fahey might have signed for someone else.
Good luck to Keith, I hope he's emptied out the coffers at Tallaght, taken them to the cleaners and his pension fund has been fattened to satisfactory levels.
Kilduff, Desmond, McGuinness to Pats confirmed. Ryan Brennan has re-signed for Rovers.
Kilduff and McGuinness could be crucial signings for Pats
Then again, I thought the same about Quigley and Fahey last season
McGuinness is no better than Oman was when he left. Kilduff could score goals for Pats or he could just stroll around trying to look interested. If Fagan is there next season I don't think there'll be any contest.
Desmond is a good young player. Can only presume there's no compensation due to Shels?
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
Oman is a better footballer I think, which balances it out.
Oman is signing for us apparently, would be a big fan but maybe hel do a job as back up for sully and flynner
