Longfordian was trying to say A difference of just 100 euro would be big for a LOI player not that the wage is 100.

Jake Kelly was linked with us weeks ago I think we have a chance as he will have learned from returning to bray that playing first team football is the most important thing and he's not guaranteed that at Dundalk or Sligo, he's an absolutely cracking player.

Also just on Benno he never said he wanted to take a step back he said he wanted to go into coaching and was hoping he'd get to do that with longford but he said on Facebook tony never offered him the chance which is very disappointing as Benno and Hunty seemed to get on very well and Benno believes Hunty will be a top top keeper so would have been nice to see them working together. Very best of luck to Benno in his coaching career, a gent and great town servant.

I understood what he meant, I might be a bit of a gob****e sometimes but I'm not stupid, say he is offered €300 a week from Longford he would need more than €400 to match that from Dundalk or Sligo also I read he is a midfielder unless he is a winger I can't see how you think he will be guaranteed first team football with De Town either, what with Kevin, Rhys, Mark, and Stephen in the mix for the midfield roles as it is, don't know what Jake is like, are you saying he is better that at least 2 of them or possibly 3 depending on what system Cousins puts out, if so happy days sign him up

Things have quietened down a bit with regards signings, any fresh rumours to throw into the mix?

The most recent rumours I've seen have been Jake Kelly, Dean Kelly, Ken Oman & Martin Deady.

There's talk of Evan McMillan going back to Bohs from Sligo as he wants to go back part-time and live in Dublin. If that's true then I'd be very disappointed if we weren't in for him too. We'd surely be able to match Bohs' wages? He's a very good defender who'd be a great addition for any team in the lower half of the Premier.

    Gary Twigg..

Martin Deady are you sure about that one? Is he not based in Cork? Maybe there may be more word official or unofficial at the dinner in a couple of weeks. I'm sure we'll pick up players but we will be fighting with the likes of Drogs and Bohs for them. Bray possibly if they get a bit of money together.

Yeah he's based in Cork but it was mentioned on another forum about him being linked with us and Galway and I notice he tweeted the other day about looking for a place to live in Dublin. I'm just putting 2 and 2 together on that one.

Fair enough I hadn't seen that. He's a very useful FD player from what I've seen of him but not sure he'd be an addition in the PD. Maybe he'd make the step up though if given the chance.

is this the Martin Deady that is with Cobh? I have heard of him but have no opinion of him tbh!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

Yeah Marty, that's him. I saw him play against us a few times in Longford. He was better than the rest of them but in fairness they were kids. He'd surely be better with better players but he wouldn't be one I'd have had on a list of players I'd go after tbh.

Great shout RE:McMillan @DeTown, Deady is a tricky full back that can play further forward if required, would be a good addition in my opinion.

Martin Deady played with us for a while. Good left back and is well able to get forward. Remember him playing against ye for us in the game up in flancare when Jeffrey Judge and Jason Hughes got in a fight with each other in the middle of the pitch during the first half and both got sent off. I'd certainly take him back at Limerick if he was available.

Yeah just had a look at his Twitter. He seems to be heading for Dublin alright and I notice he's followed certain Town tweeters though he may just be being polite and following them back :-)

Was great when he was fit but that was rare unfortunately. Jesus when you look at that table it makes you feel so privileged to be back in the top flight, 9th In the FD that season, my goodness.

Yeah when I actually stopped to think about him I remembered him being fairly decent when he played. Scary how you forget these lads. I remembered the rest of them, it must be old age. I can't be bothered looking it up, and wouldn't know where to look tbh but I'm sure Martinho has the stats about how many players we used in the pre Tony Cousins First Division days. Serious turnover.

You can look it up on the LTFC website in the history section all thanks to Marty. Some boy for the stats! That first year back down I think we might of surpassed 30 players!

I do remember Aaron C's masterplan of signing lads nobody had ever heard of and taking the division by storm. Worked for perhaps two games. Big Mick McCarthy brings back some memories
