Fair enough. What about the ridiculously long off-season. Mid February kick-off or something like that during the weekend break in the 6 nations between games 2 and 3.

Maybe play the league cup as a pre season tournament might help with the long off season, I think the Loi shield was used this way.

The league cup had a group phase that started before the league back in the mid 90s. It is difficult to make the season longer when the first division is so short of teams. They can hardly make us play each other five times.

    You'd think anyway.

    Challenge. Accepted.

Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

The reason for the shorter season & the longer off season is to try & help clubs to keep costs down.
Clubs are now giving contracts only during the playing season in many cases.

I would prefer if we could get rid of these Monday night games because I know it costs us down in Cork about 1000 fans each time we have them.
We were lucky this season as most of them were away. I would also prefer no mid season break but I can understand the reason for it.
    Its all a balancing act.

lol, no bending the knee at all. In terms of exposure for a new season, a weekend like that is possibly more suited. Anyways it's just a small point.
Do the Premier and First Divisions have to kick-off on the same weekends? If the Premier is longer, understandable that it might start a week or two earlier. The contracts is understandable alright. They have to cut the cloth etc.
