The reported attendance for this game was 25,000.
And probably correct. Those Inter-League games were huge and a huge honour for our players at the time.
One of the long forgotten glory days of Irish football was the 2-1 win over the highly fancied Scottish League side in 1939. The visitors were under instruction to stop the scoring at thirteen to avoid embarrassing their hosts too much. We drew with a much vaunted Football League team (English league) incl Duncan Edwards iirc in 1956 in Dalymount too. We drew again a few years later and beat them in 1963.
