Fair enough his transfers were poor, but established players demanding more money means less money to bring in quality. We can look at Coleman's transfers too nothing special there either. Rovers were going no where fast under him as you pointed out but the club have gone backwards since his departure. It was a rush decision that has now back fired. Also getting a DCM phone call while on holidays is no way to treat any employee never mind the man that lead the club to its first title in over 30 years.

I think truth about Barraclough's departure is a bit more complicated than most realise and is probably best not aired her. However, a few straight questions that require simple answers will be asked at ther AGM and should clear the air with regard to this. I think it's time the management committe began running the club instead of Paul Cook.

Any of the Sligo Rovers lads on here have a preference of who they'd like to see installed?

The managers who have done best for us have been surprise appointments, in that none of us pub experts predicted them despite loads of speculation. I hope it's the same again - rather than saying we want so-and-so and going after him, we hold a proper interview process and pick someone who persuades us he has something to offer.

Coleman has just signed Sean Maguire on loan...poor Accrington.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

Is he really that bad, anytime I seen him on the box he looks a bit lively?

He was awesome for a lad his age when in the 1st division, I know that much. Wouldn't discount him after a few bad months at Sligo that's for sure, considering that well, everyone had a few bad months at Sligo..

He played a starring role in those few bad months, though. Plenty went wrong, but a significant part of the problem was that, having made some personnel changes, Maguire and Odhiambo in particular turned out to be woefully short of what we'd expected them to be. I had a lot of tine for Maguire. I hoped he'd finally 'click' as it wasn't for want of effort ("a bit lively" is about right) - he just didn't look much good.

Maguire was a massive disappointment. I had seen him play for Waterford and thought he was different class and expected him to set the Showgrounds alight but it just never happened. Mind you, he was improving dramatically towards the end and he should look a lot better at a s hite club like Accrington as long as the gaffer doesn't bring him on one of his expeditions.

To be fair, in the games in Tallaght Sligo were awful but he always looked like the player with a turn of pace and a drop of the shoulder to do something interesting. Definitely potential there, and he's a good signing in Football Manager.

I see Maguire scored and was apparently outstanding on his debut for Accrington. I expected him to do well at Sligo from what I'd seen of him at Waterford, he definitely has ability.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Definitive proof the LOI is a higher standard. Let us never compare them again

We could take a break from the LoI next season, play a series of glamour friendlies against Accrington instead and watch the money roll in.

Watched Seani play for West Ham U21's days before he went out on loan and he played on the wing and wasn't involved too much and was in the central position when should of been out wide at times and made a couple of decent runs through the Liverpool defence but the ball to him was poor and intercepted, but it annoyed me as he's a striker not a winger, reminded me of when Darryl Murphy went from Waterford to Sunderland and he played on the winger quite a lot of the time and now he's starting as a striker for Ipswich and back in the Ireland squad and scored couple of goals as of late. Out of curiosity what position did Seani mainly play while on loan at Sligo and did he play much? By all accounts meant to have had a stormer for Accrington Stanley last weekend. The lad is only 20 since last May (According to google) even though he apparently played poorly for Sligo other then the season and a half for Waterford at senior level he has not played much senior ball and has very little experience. Lad has plenty of time of he's hands and hopefully it works out for him in the UK. After a bad few months at Sligo I wouldn't him off considering Sligo were poor in generally and Sligo fans probably expected too much from him and obviously he didn't live up to those expectations.

He generally played on the wing for us. I thought he improved a lot under Coleman and would certainly have liked to see him stay for the rest of the season if that had been possible as he was one of our better players at that stage (although that's not the hardest won award at the moment). For a striker his finishing was shocking all the same.
