    Digger

I bumped into Digger O Brien by pure fluke at last nights cup match in Inchicore. He was asking for everyone and he knows TC well and is confident we will finally go up!. His first cousin is Ger O Brien. He was telling me that his daughter who is seven is more into the loi soccer than his son who is 14 who is into the GAA. I was delighted to catch up with him and my only regret is that I didnt get a picture taken of him!!

btw he told me that he is no longer in football along with Pat Scully.Scully is now takin taxi drivin!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

Scully has been a taxi driver for years hasn't he? Even when he was in football. Same as TC as far as I know. Handy for those in football I guess as they can work whatever hours suit them.

"5 foot 8, overweight, Digger O'Brien is f*ckin great". He knew he was tubby and it didn't bother him one bit. Though I'm sure his managers may have had a different view on that. He used to enjoy the abuse he got.Top class shot stopper in his day.

If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Will never forget the abuse he took in Finn Park on the infamous play-off night. If memory serves me right, he turned around to the group behind the nets and lifted his jersey, slapped his belly, and got on with the game again.

Think it was against Cork in Flancare one night, the fans behind the goal starting singing the umpa lumpa song to him and he got down on his knees and started to walk around the box to the tune...funny at the time but jesus if Hunt or Bennion did it now i'd lose it...
