Lots of excitement on the forum about this one obviously! They're without six players through suspension and injury tonight so we really should be winning comfortably. Though I'll take any kind of win at this stage.

rob waters is a huge loss for them..shels were close to blowin it last night against shams.. they will definitely drop points somewhere along the way!

As regards the forum, I made the point only yesterday actually that Twitter and Facebook has led to the decline of this forum. Some great threads on here from days past and who could forget the forum that used to be on the club site. Oh well.

Anyway as regards the game, we made hard work of it but the three points were all that matters at this stage. Rice was immense I thought, and Hynes did very well when he came on, and a great finish too.

3 games to go, 3 wins and we have the title. As nervy as it will be and despite our previous lead, I'm sure we all would have taken this situation at the start of the year. Onwards to Waterford.

Was Haverty injured? Don't fancy Rhys at centre back for any length of time. He did his best but he's not a natural defender and can get caught for pace too. We should be certainly capable of beating both Waterford and Rovers B then we'll see what we need from the Harps game. Still very much in our hands with Shels still having to play Harps away and Galway who are the form team in the league at the moment.

I couldn't believe the line up last night, why have we got a squad if we are not going to use them, Rhys at centre half when we have Noel available is just nuts.
I thought the whole team were crap at times and really good at other times, we were losing got back level, losing again got back level and then went on to win well in the end,
Cousins needs to stop panicing I know his job is on the line and rightly so, but that choice is mind boggeling, he states on the radio he has to go with the experienced players to get us over the line, well if Rhys is experienced enough to play at centre half he is most definately experienced enough to play in his proper position in midfield,
then again no one apart from Mark seems to gel with Stephen in a 442 formation, I think Rice is now susspended with too many yellow cards, I bet Cousins play Gorman at centre half again next week if he does what will that do to his confidence,
was I imagining things or was the Cobh number 8 booked twice, I know others thought so as well from a few shouts from the stands,
if Rice is susspended for Waterford I really really hope Couisin picks Mark, Kevin, Rhys and lorcan if its 442 and if not then the 3 guys in the centre as 451.
fingers crossed Gary shaw (gigantic loss last night) isn't injured still.
we have been really good without Rice before so I'm not worried there if we play our guys in thier positions I think we will beat Waterford

First game in a while so it was great that it was so entertaining!

Agree with Rhys at centre back, would swapping him for O'Connor have worked, can he play centre back? Don looked tired but still played well, as did Sully, even if he didn't manage to score. Hynes played well, game was set up for him with it being so open, I think he can be very good at times!

Morris done well too, and will only get better, Paul Hunt needs to keep the head better, don't agree with some of the abuse he likes to dish out!!

Was he available? I didn't hear our subs. I didn't notice him on the bench but I didn't see him in the stand either.

Fair enough not sure why he didn't play so. He usually does a decent job when he plays CB.

Cowan was immense for our first goal. Ricer was superb in his turn and then shot. I dont think Lorcan meant his shot but we will take it! agree with Tommo's error but thought Hunty could have bein quicker comin out! he was out of order for both our goals Hunty imo.. Hynes goal was superb he has bein playin well last few games and he obviously has a point to prove to Section O ! Sullys assist was superb and Salmo took it well!

I hope shawsy wont be out too long! I heard that Tyrlo has a chance of bein back v Harps which is great news as he has bein badly missed. When is Pat Sullivan back- is it for Shams game?

I think Shels will drop points v Harps or Galway so it could be in our hands before Ballybofey! hopefully we wont slip back to old habits!

big kudos to the lads in section O last nite- the way the flags were arranged worked in our favour.. at times our singin was boucing off the stands with the echo!

Not good for the nerves. It is a good job I don't get to too many games anymore or I would have had a heart attack at this stage.
We made Cobh look a lot lot better than they are. Job done and three points but we were far from convincing at times. Don did well for the goal but he is so wasteful, same as years ago, his touch at times renders his pace useless. But that said, a good man to have on the wing when it goes right.

Lorcans goal had a hint of good luck but it was a beautiful ball in and deserved to end up in the back of the net. He was fantastic. Peters goal, what a strike. The man got a lot of unwarranted abuse in the past and this season but he is playing well in the few games I have seen.

The 4th goal was a beautiful move, great ball into space from Heinz to Sully and a cross to be rifled in.

Great to see so many young fellas singing away. I feel very old these days

Keep up the good work, sing yer hearts out in Waterford... 3 games to go

LETS GO AND WIN THIS ****ING DIVISION AND GET THE HELL OUT OF IT.

    Gwan De Town!

*edit* leaving Kimmage 6pm for the shams B match, have space for 4 people if anyone is stuck for a lift. One way only , i'm going further west after it.

Willie was telling people on Saturday that he won't be back this season but he is healing quickly and should be back in time for pre-season. Pat Sullivan got a three game ban apparently so it'll be the Harps game before he's back. Gary Shaw should be fit for Waterford.

Pat sully only got 2 games according to the most recent FAI press release, will double check tho.

for me it was our worst defensive performance of the season I never seen us looking so open and a lot of that had to do with Rhys playing centre half (that's not a slant on rhys at all, he gave it his all and actually played some nice weighted passes but he's not a centre back and it was a poor choice from TC, combine that with resting Salmo in this game you'd have to wonder if TC underestimated Cobh perhaps? (Although Salmo has looked tired of late so maybe not)

Going forward we didn't force their keeper into a single save before Ricer's goal despite our dominance but once we got the equaliser I think we were all confident of the 3 points.

I thought we were lucky with the first goal that cobh scored in a way becuase hunt seemed to make contact with Deady and had the ref decided to stop play and give a peno we might have been down to 10. Second goal was a shocking back pass from Tommo who was brilliant again otherwise but i agree with Martinho that Hunt was also asleep at the switch. I'd disagree with the criticism of hunt for having a go at his defenders after the first goal becuase Benno use to be very vocal in nets and we use to always say it was good to see some communication back there so I'd disagree with that and hopefully we aren't talking about anymore costly mistakes between now and the end of the season because that's the last way you want to lose a title.

Peter Hynes has taken a lot of stick on here and in the stands this season but fecking hell what a strike, goal of the season for me simply because the build up play from Rhys, Shannon, O'connor and Sully was so good, as soon as Hynes hit it it was in and it was great to see some of his touches and hold up play being hailed so openly by section O who were absolutely immense on the night, huge credit to the lads who went out early and set up and of course to Paddy and Cabs for all their work in recent years, it really has been a huge turn around.

The 4th goal not only killed the game off it also gives us momentum going into a very sticky trip to Waterford next weekend, with Shels playing their 2 biggest games over the next 2 weeks this is where we are all hoping something might go our way but without wanting to sound cliche this is where we need to stop thinking about them and do our job, 3 games from glory. LTFC TILL I DIE!

Just had a quick look on extratime there, only the automatic game was listed. I think any additional games get listed the following week. I heard it indirectly from the horse's mouth so I'd imagine he'd know by now. Back for Harps if we can manage until then.

Yeah 3 games in total so. In theory we should be able to cope, with the right selections.

I thought Rice was suspended on the amount of yellow cards, I think Cousins will start with the same team in the same positions as last weekend, I hope not, but if De Town win I won't care
