You've completely misinterpreted my sentiments there (sentiments I expressed months ago now).

I have no problem with winning by any means necessary. No problem whatsoever. I happen to think that a more direct style even makes more sense when you're running a combination team, particularly when there are no training sessions taking place to breed familiarity between the players.

But my task as a writer is to describe what I see. That Kilkenny game was appalling to watch and there was far more scope for Limerick to play a more grounded game against what was a vastly inferior opposition.

But as you say, they got the win and that absolutely is what matters. That's not going to stop me from speaking the truth about what kind of spectacle was on offer though. People expect honesty from my work.

I hope the lads do it in Inishowen too. Of course I do. The strength of the current management team is that they've managed to get the best players to make themselves available. That's the benefit of picking a Pike man and a 'Boro man. As such, the high standard of the players that we have here has got us to the final - as it should have done in many of the last few years if the same players had been bothered to turn up for previous incumbents of the role.

To close, I will reiterate - football is a results game and that is all that matters.

Funny then, that some men, who bafflingly command a massive cult of personality around themselves, only have the positive results recognised and benefit from having the negative ones ignored. I would again encourage you to examine the lower-league tables at the conclusion of this season. Specifically 1A. How did the sides who were relegated from the Premier last season get on this year? Or are we allowed to talk about that?

I suppose any LDMC talk should be in one of the Limerick threads really.

As for the players showing up this year but not last year. This year they have some respect for the manager, last year I don't think you could say the same...

It is a tough position, Aidan ryan made a great go of it and was very professional, last year was a disaster but the managers that are there now are only short term I would like to see Aidan ryan come back he deserves another chance.

limerick lost to innishowen 2 -1,you are right on one thing its a results game and this manager has lead Limerick to another final defeat..by hook or by crook...not so sure about the no stone unturned bit.a strong squad full of junior internationals, and playing against a league one could hardly describe as one of the countrys strongest it a shock defeat and considering the teams handy enough run to the final.the buck stops with the manager,it is a results business and a poor result for Limerick.congratulations to Innishowen.

Bit harsh on Inishowen. They've been there or there abouts now for a few years and are very highly under-rated by leagues, managers, and everyone else down across the country. A very good junior scene in Inishowen. Most of the clubs have top class facilities and it's a much stronger football area than GAA in most parts. For a small peninsula off the top of Donegal, they really do have the strongest football sides in the north west. One only has to look at Cockhill Celtics dominance of the Intermediate scene up here to see that football is king up there.

As far as a squad of junior internationals, it's long been a complaint of football clubs up here that none of the junior teams get a look in when it comes to picking an international squad. The only time they get watched is when the Oscar Traynor team or junior sides go into national competition. Only five Inishowen sides entered the FAI Junior cup this season, two of them from outside the Premier Division, and one of them relegated from the Premier Division. It's just of no interest to them seeing as how badly the area is ignored nationally. Couple of the sides in the Inishowen League I'd have put money on to get to quarter, if not semi-final of FAI Junior Cup were they to enter.

Well did not want you to interpet my comments as a slight on the new oscar traynor champions as it was obviously a deserved victory,it was more a reflection of whats going on down here,Limericks manager being held up as some sort of football god on the back of an fai junior cup win a few years ago,yet recent reality is almost managing a previously ,relegated premier side,to another relegation and now a final defeat which to most people down here should not be acceptable given the talent at his disposal.its a pity your better teams do not give the Fai a go given what you have said.

Hate is hardly the point TG,its a results business and as AOB has previously referenced it seems this managers failures are not to be discussed, merely glossed over.he deserves another chance in charge imo, they should appoint him again.

Good point. He has publicly slaughtered most of if not all prem managers this season with his comments on selections/subs/formations etc.Very easy to do that from a keyboard. Also heard OT team should have won by 2 or 3.But the Managers were rubbish so it didnt matter. And as for DC back to Pike thats not happening as apparently there is a new man gone in.POD also to Fairview. Will he bring back all the Dines players to View.Probably i'd say.Dines could be in trouble.
