    Finn Harps Academy

I was just on the Finn Harps website and noticed the academy squads for 99-00 were announced. Is there any reason why not a single player from an Inishowen League Club has made it into the Finn Harps Academy squads?

Not sure, but this belongs in the Harps section.

I believe this was on request of the Inishowen League clubs themselves. They had Inishowen League representative teams at Foyle Cup (and Galway cup far as I know) and didn't want a crossover between Harps and Inishowen League.

Open to correction on that however.

Asked around and it seems Nigel is right. Inishowen not aboard yet but the academy is still in its early days and hopefully they'll come aboard in future.

Harps academy continues from strength to strength.

Joe Boyle, one of the most respected coaches in this end of the country has joined as Under-19 manager ahead of the interim season, with Harps legend Eloka Asokuh and Michael McMenamin as his backroom team.

Declan Boyle is in place already as under-17 manager and Trevor Scanlon is in place as Head of Academy which oversees players up to 15 years old before progressing into under-17s.

Really super times for youth at Finn Harps.
