"I have eight very good defenders in my squad, nine if you include Gary Doherty.

sorry don't find that funny at all.
gary is one of the most dedicated and hard workin players out there.
very versatile and can play in a number of positions where ever he is required by his country.
if only some of the other players would show the same flexibility

Anyway, way prefer Doherty playing up front (if at all) as any mistakes would be far less costly. Don't get me wrong, I'm not slating the guy or anything, and he can score a goal or two, but he is not the quality of player that we really should want in defence or up front.

just coz he's tall and can score from set pieces doesnt make him a versatile player and certainly doesnt make him a striker.
mind you ive the upmost respect for the man and admire his dedication and hard work

You had to further inspect it to find that out? Did you actually think Kerr was slagging off the Doc?Originally Posted by Bondvillain

I'm wondering who the 8 good defenders are...

O`Brien
Cunningham
Dunne
O`Shea
Carr
Finnan
Then you're into Maybury and Breen, who I suppose are ok, but quality might be stretching it.

Maybe he meant Keane & Kilbaneto be honest I would like 22 good defenders in the squad, when you don't have the ball then everyone needs to defend. To be honest I like Kerr's selection policy, he is making the right choices.
