    I believe it is yes. Rangers are the ones dragging their heels about this idea ironicly.

    BTW why do Celtic fans insist on calling Rangers "the huns". This was a derogatory term used aginst the enemies of the British Empire. Any enemy of the British empire would be a friend of mine.

    C'mon my magyar friends!

    Yes that my point. What we think now is not what was thought in earlier times. Celtic fans labelled Rangers fans as Huns. A grave insult.

    In World War Germans were called "Huns." In the name of patriotism, musicians no longer played Bach and Beethoven. Celtic fans were quite happy to see themselves as British and to give their opponents the same label as that which applied to the opponents of the British empire.

    Building on What Dav said-up until the recent opening of the Glasgow airport offic Celtic store there were more Celtic stores in Ireland than in Scotland! Hwoever of course because one is in Belfast and one is in Derry and Conor see's everything so black and white this makes them UK stores because Belfast is part of the UK which means it has nothing to do with Ireland or the Irish people and no one Irish can have any alligance with Belfast because they will be UK folk.
    Belfast=UK=Part of the Queens Kingdom
    Derry=UK=Part of the Queens Kingdom

    tut tut how can anyone from either of these places dissasociate themselves for her maj*sty......

    keep it coming Conor or is it one rule for cities and another for football clubs?

Ajax had a reputation as a club with many Jewish followers, so it may be correct to suggest that they are a club of the Jewish diaspora (depends on what meaning you give to that little word 'of'). In any sense though, what it does not do, of course, is make them an Israeli club...
    Where in this thread has someone said Celtic are an Irish club? I'll answer it for you. NOWHERE. Your broken record continues to play, when a thread merely mentions the word 'celtic'. I guess you can't help but want to be part of the 'celtic supporting community'

    Anyway on to much more important matters.

    Good 3-0 win today and 3 important points ahead of next saturday.

    Sutton came back and played well in midfield, scored and early goal and was rested on 80 mins.

    John Hartson scored a brace and continues to put in a good shift - it seems to me he's putting in the extra effort in order to get a new contract or at least ensure he gets a decent move away if celtic decide not to renew his contract.

    Aiden Mc played a full game which was great. He gives celtic something different in that he has the ability to run at defences and beat people. However, I thought some of his simple stuiff was sloppy, passes too short or behind a player and losing posession in what could have been dangerous areas against better opposition. However, he's a long way to go & every game under his belt will improve his experience - hope he gets an opportunity on Tues.

    Another clean sheet will no doubt help 'the sieves' confidence, with a couple of excelent last ditch tackles and blocks in the closing minutes (when the game was won) showing a good desire to keep the ICT score tally 'zilch'
    I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

    Err, maybe you should post more on the Ramblers forum then!

    Liam you registered in August 2003 and i remember quite distinctly that you chose Cobh at the time because you noticed there were very few Ramblers fans. That was your reason.

    Congrats on being being a very literate one year old.

    Were Ajax set up with any spefic idea of helping the Jewish community in Amsterdam? I think not.

    However I think that if you wish to debate this point it will at least be a novel change from the Celtic arguement that has been going on here for ages. Seriously lads we know exactly what you think, you know what we think, has anyones mind been changed on this issue? No. So why is this still going on.

    What ya saying that for?
    I chose Cobh because my family is from Cobh (well half Cobh half Tip)! Because Trixie who is my great uncle does loads of work for the club! Because my family are life long Ramblers fans!
    You my friend are a total eejit-chose Cobh becyase there were very few Ramblers fans? Who the heck are you?
    Don't go spreading lies like that around!

Also as Junior points out there is no history of the club being set up to help Jewish people in Amsterdam and certainly no history of the club flying the Star of David to represent their history and identity. Indeed you may find that Israel was in fact Palestine when the club was set up, but thats a debate for another page

    I never said that-I asked you a question that you still havn't answered-is it one rule for cities and another for Football Clubs?
    So Celtic is in Britain and you say that makes it a British club.....Belfast is in the UK so does that mean it is rightfully the Queens own?

    Buliding on this the Republic of Ireland London Supporters Club, which I know has a fair few members on here, was founded in England and is based in England so does this make it an English organistation?

    ..........I think not

    Oh and Eoinh notice I chose to make my 1000th post on my club's board despite the fact that not as many people will see it!

    yes liam its fine for irish people to support ireland.

    Personally i love Luch-Energiya Vladivostok. Ive never gone to see them play, have no connection with them but Jesus i cant be irish and proud.

    I heard their matchs with Metallurg-Kuzbass Novokuznetsk are something else. In 1994 my uncles dads brothers son in law was over there. Ever since then ive loved Vladivostok.

    Just in case they go bad ive a back up team Lisma-Mordovia Saransk. Im kind of leaning towards them ever since the great Ilya Borodin signed for them. Well hes supposed to be great ive never actaully gone to see him play. Whenever Aeroflot get their prices down ill be over there in a shot .... err maybe.
