Eh, this is a forum about the Irish national team. Why shouldn't one of our most talented internationals ever be talked about?

Because he reluctantly played for Ireland. He even admitted that not playing for England was a big disappoinment and if he was not playing for Preston at the time would have got a call up.Common how can you call this pleb an irishman?

    There are many Irish plebs.

I can call him an irishman because he holds an Irish passport and as such is as entitled to call himself an irishman as much as I am.

Listen Boys.Bang out of order or not. This bloke comentates for alot of the English matches and its all 'we this we that'. He also writes for the english newspapers and promotes Engerland behond belief. How can you class him as an Irishman.Yes he was a good footballer and did contribute quite well to the irish cause but in my eyes he was a glory hunter and irish football him where he is now.Sorry lads but we have to aggree to disagree here.

Lawro, Townsend and a few other 'Anglos' constantly refer to 'we' when commenting on Ingerland games. They are getting paid to do it, wouldnt you.

But whenever Ireland are playing in WCs they have a grin on their face when we win and Ingerland dont.

    Townsend is worse than Lawro.

Mark Lawrenson is a legend and a very under-rated player.
He was probably the most gifted player in England at his time and could play anywhere.

He can be an anooying c#nt at times but dont take away his footballing ability and what he done for Ireland.

Had Lawro, Brady and Beglin been fit for Euro88 we'd have romped it.

Never heard Townsend do it just the other Sh*t head and no i would not shout for England if i got paid for it.Look in my view you are an Irishman if you play for Ireland because 1) You are born in Ireland 2) You have Irish Blood and not just to suit your career and to suit yourself which Lawrenson does...

Not sure of your background but i am born and bred in Ireland, my children and wife have Irish blood so therefore we are all Irish
thus entitling us to an Irish passport.Anyone outside this situation is not Irish should not refer to themselves as Irish and should not have an Irish Passport(Lawrenson Included).I will leave it at that.

I couldnt give a toss if Lawernson refers to "us" when he speaks about Ingerland. If i were in his shoes I would do the same.

Fair enough he, and even Clinton, might have took their time about deciding that he wanted to play but both of them did the business for us and give us 101%.

Personally it would take me a long time to think about England if I couldnt make it in the Irish set up.

He always flys over to TV3 and doesnt disgard his irish playing career (unlike that hanson muppet with scotland).

I dont see where the problem is.

Ok.I get your point but i still stick to my views on lawrenson.Where is his Irish blood?? I dont care if you have no have no problem in him indirectly saying he is an englishman which he is of course he is through and through and played for us lot just to get that halo around his head but i quite clearly have an issue with it,and have no empathy what so ever towards the creep.

He always flys over to TV3 and doesnt disgard his irish playing career

yes because he is a greedy basta*d and a boring fcuk at that ,unlike Hanson who is a real scotishman and cheers when ingerland get beaten.

So when my kid is born on English soil later this year he should FCUK off and play for England in 20 years time because he is English? Is that what you are saying?

Your are clutching at straws here yes...My two boys are born here in london too and i want them to grow up as Irish as i am,but the difference between your future children, my kids and lawrenson is the blood and what we want for them.Kevin Kilbane is a proper gent and a true Irishman and will always be
who will never claim to be an Englishman.

Hanson is a muppet !! Asked about his scottish career on the BBC and he said he never played for them, that he is English and has nothing to do with Scotland !!!!! Beat that !

I would rather listen to Lawerson than Hanson, Shmichel, that dizzy b1tch on ITV or venebales

(none of the above have the slightest inclination of what they are talking about)
