Also found my long lost Dirty Dancing Soundtrack. Now there was a class soundtrack, still quality, film was also wonderfully excellent

Actually started re-organising my cd's lastnight, alphabetically of course. Got as far as J

Abba, air, alabama 3, allentones, animals, american music club, astrud gilberto, apples in stereo, bad manners, belle & sebastian, beat, beastie boys, blur, bob marley, blades, blondie, boo radleys, beautiful south, cardigans, cure, charlatans, charles wright, captain beefheart, chicks, david bowie, david gray, divine comedy, dj shadow, desmond dekker, doves, dubstar, elvis costello & presley, fall, gentle waves, gregory isaacs, housemartins, happy mondays, inspiral carpets, inciters, intensified, jam, JAMC, johnny cash, jon spencer...

Ok. so maybe ABBA might fall into the 'shame' category, but I'd take disco over 'big hair' anyday.

Excellent soundtrack alright (with the exception of "hey baby", which was never any good)
On a similair vein, I got 'Growing up too fast: The Girl Group Anthology' which is also 'wonderfully excellent', with some very quirky stuff on it.

If you take out grunge and rave, 90s music was just an arid desert of non-event Britpop, boybands and forumalaic dance.

A fair enough, if slightly over-simplified analogy.

Well yeah, Supergrass and Suede had their moments too.

First Oasis album, Primal Scream, The Charlatans, Happy Mondays, Black Grape, The Beta Band, Super Furry Animals, Alabama 3....

Actually enjoyed the buzz of britpop, but then it was the first "scene" I was really old enough to properly enjoy..... Gig's 2 or 3 times a week, between Roadhouse, Academy, University and Apollo... Some bands endure, some bands believe their own hype and fade away/get dropped.

Actually 'upgraded' from tape to cd recently. The singles really stand out alright.

Wearing large amounts of black clothing, going to goth clubs and putting on makeup to make her face pale. She was convicted of said charge.

Tanning too easily in summer? - you should have joined our lot on the annual six week excursion to Fermanagh, there'd be no danger of tanning whatsoever then.

No she's constantly complaining about never having enough of a tan (I have accused her of being too much of a tan .) which I always find very disconcerting for someone who listens to the Sisters.
