Brondby fan fined for 'scoring' against Parma

A Brondby fan who cost his side a £2,100 Uefa fine by invading the pitch and kicking a ball past Parma goalkeeper Sebastian Frey has received an unwanted Christmas present.

"The bill has been sent to him as we know who he is and where he lives," said general secretary Emil Bakkendorf.

The incident happened as the Danish club lost 3-0 at home to go out of the Uefa Cup 4-1 on aggregate. The frustration got too much for the man, who evaded Brondby stewards before "scoring" past Frey as he prepared to take a goal-kick.

"We do not find it fair that we should pay for this fan's silly behaviour," added Bakkendorf. "He is not a member of any of our supporters' clubs but he is from the Copenhagen area.

"With this step, we want to send a signal to all our supporters and spectators that it may expensive for them if they do not behave. I want to emphasise, though, that this was an isolated incident in our Uefa Cup campaign this autumn.

"Apart from this one unhappy situation, there has been absolutely no trouble with any of our supporters at Uefa Cup games - neither away or at home," he added.
