Paddy Kavanagh did nothing wrong. The Cork player is the one who put himself in danger. Brave lad, I hope he recovers quickly.

Had a double take on whose post this was!

Exactly how I see it (just from the vine; didn't see the match). The Cork lad went right over the top; unfortunate, maybe even a bit careless on his part, but never the active fault of the Bohs player.

Great night for Dundalk and to a lesser extent Pats but we still have to get the job done tonight.

I could see Bohs getting something from that game but Drogs winning in Tallaght is a massive shock

Kavanagh did nothing wrong there and to suggest otherwise is ridiculous. It's just one of those unfortunate incidents and I hope he has a speedy recovery. I hope there will be no twitter bashing for Kavanagh similar to what some Derry "fans" subjected Hoban to....... twice!

The worst post in the history of foot.ie, and that's really saying something

Absolutely disgusting for you to try and lay blame for Lenihan's fall with Kavanagh

Don't forget as well Cork fans (not sullanefc) defending Darren Dennehy for his sending off in Belfield earlier this season, which every other fan criticised as a horrendous tackle.

Basically my team good, other teams bad.

Well, now that the European campaign is over.

Oh I feel a bit sorry for Bohs. Clearly the better team throughout the injury has taken a bit of gloss over a terrific win for them

What do you want them to have? An open-top bus perhaps? They got their reward, i.e. 3 points. I completely stopped caring about the result after the injury. I think it's very fair that concern switched to the injured player and away from football if you ask me.

I didn't say otherwise. It's just unfortunate for them that their terrific performance for 70 minutes will be forgotten

So if cork had gone on to win the game 2-1 you wouldn't have cared about the result??? Strange to say the least

Not a jot. The incident totally sickened me.

Cork have released a statement saying Lenihan is ok which is great to hear. Suffered concussion so id imagine a few weeks on the sideline for him.

RTE saying he has been discharged from hospital - Thank God

Was at the game last night and saw him on the ground with the paramedics and club doctors over him - was very distressing

Well done to all paramedics , cork and bohs medical staff in been so quick in their actions and their excellent work in treating him

Jeez, exaggerate much? Forgive me for taking a post like this from you with a large pinch of salt. Good contribution.

So you are basing that opinion on 1 or 2 posters on here? The ccfcforum was 50-50 on the red with most of the rest saying yellow. Making sweeping generalisations to make your point isn't very clever.

Look, only the player truly knows his intention but from what I've seen, IMO, he deliberately body checked a player in mid air and that is reckless.

Apart from the macho rugby stuff, I don't see much wrong with that comment. It's true you can't swallow your tongue, and from what's been said (again, I've only seen the vine link), simple first aid did prevent further injury. An incident can look distressing but have a simple, if long, treatment to keep it perfectly under control.

    Its Doctor Fergal ..... (:

EDIT: Just following on from Stu's comment

I suffer from epilepsy myself - and have been told by my doctor that during a seizure it is very hard to swallow your tongue and that ppl should not try prevent it happening if I am in seizure

Not sure though if the same applies to linehan's case though - which obviously came from very different circumstances

What almost certainly happened is that, while unconscious, his tongue fell back and blocked his airway. This is very dangerous, but very easy to fix. You just open the airway (via a jaw thrust here due to the risk of a spinal injury). It's something you learn on any basic first aid course. Fergal may well have a point that it's not worth hyping up something that's really easy to fix by suggesting it needs paramedics. A paramedic would have been needed to rule out a spinal injury. The rest seems like basic first aid - monitor the airway; get to hospital
