David Trezeguet has warned his France national team colleagues not to throw away the chance of playing in the 2006 World Cup.

Les Bleus coach Raymond Domenech is currently constructing a new side, following the retirement of the old guard after Euro 2004.

Domenech has introduced several young faces into the set-up but performances have yet to hint at a bright future.

Though France are unbeaten in their World Cup qualifying group, they were unimpressive in beating Faroe Islands and Cyprus away from home and were held 0-0 at Stade de France by Israel and Republic of Ireland.

"I don't want to question Jacques Santini, who has always supported me, but we had reached a point where it was easy to play against us," Trezeguet told L'Equipe.

"I have never thought to stop with the French team. I always have the same desire to go on.
