    Does Lennox have a point...kinda

Re: "Cork" lads in the team, Lennox might just have a point.

Does bringing in very average players like Hedderman, Lopes, Nwankwo, etc make sense when we have/had players just as good as them already, players like Mucca etc who've been let go.

Barca always try to have as many Catalans as they can IF (BIG IF) they are good enough. IF they are not then they get a non-Catalan. Dont see why there should be a problem if City pursue the same plan. That doesnt mean that players who are good enough should be kept out of the team by crap players from Cork.

Lennox hasnt said anthing. Dolan has. I know who's comment's I always take with a pinch of salt
    Oh no not them again

What exactly is a "Cork Lad"?

Would the likes of Tambling, Ludzic, and Wiggington have qualified? After all they settled here.

So how can you say that some of the present day generation of imports won't do the same?

Behan is from West Limerick - does that disqualify him?

This just sounds like the work place grumbling of dissatisfied employees. Nothing like a bit of frustration to generate rumours and conjecture. Mind you, it's good to know that the players are unhappy to be out of the squad.

Although our winning run ended against shels, we're still on a pretty good run. Haven't lost in a few months. Why would the manager change such a team?

IMO he should make a few changes tonite, they looked wrecked friday night, all these games in such a short period of time is taking its toll on some players, if we play tonite like we did on friday, drogs will destroy us,there much better than derry and they know they need a result to qualify for europe,

    possible changes:
    soflynn starts
    lopes starts

I'm not going to get involved in the 'Cork' versus 'non-Cork' speculation but I do want to question your labelling Lopes as average when he hasn't really had enough games yet to show us whether he is good, bad, or completely indifferent. Surely he is entitled to a bit of a run in the side before people start dismissing him as 'average'. We were pretty average on Friday night till he came on as a sub. there were times last Friday when it was like a recurring nightmare. Mickey Devine was hoofing the ball up the middle and Derry were winning everything in the air, so what does he do? Keeps hoofing it...It was amazing the difference Lopes made, there were so many high balls being thumped up in the air and it wasn't till he came on and had the confidence to pull the ball down and play it on the floor that we started to pile on the pressure that eventually got us the penalty.
Don't get me wrong now, I know Behan did a great job in the air when he came on as well but the point is that there was a lot more variety, a lot more threat in our attacking, once Lopes was on. I'm not saying he is the definitive midfield player because I haven't seen him play often enough. What I am saying is on Friday night's showing he deserves more games and he doesn't look average to me.
The only thing I will say about having Cork lads in the team is that whoever the manager might be they should always try to have a core of locals in the side, guys who understand the whole Cork-Dublin rivalry and so on, but you have to pick people on merit. Pick the best eleven players, basically.

I recently heard from a squad members father that he was unhappy with all the imports in the team and the feeling in some parts that the team play with more heart without the imports. This was said to me after the 4-1 win over waterford which coincided with the return of greg.

Now mind you this parent is only probably concerned about his sons future as he has yet to make his el debut.

Both these players have only really played for the u-21s this season.
It would be crazy to start either of them in a game of this importance.

Well, Dolan is being positively orgasmic over George according to the official site. Its hard to believe that this is all just a public facade, with things being totally different in private.

Dunno their names but I'm sure someone will tell me...
At a guess I'd say their names ended in "ic" or "ov"
